My wife and I have been debating whether or not to do this but, its just not fair to the poor guy, he doesn't get any attention anymore with the baby and dog in the picture now. His name is Garrett and he's the most friendly, affection giving, well behaved cat you would ever come across.

We've had him for about 5 years (since he was a couple weeks old) and got him from a friend who's cat had kittens, so he's not from a pet store or anything. Garrett is fixed, declawed and all shots are upto date along with flea protection. He is great with people/kids & other cats but doesn't care for dogs.

If anyone is interested or wants more info shoot me a PM.
I would, but we have 5 already With a kid comming, I don't think there would be any more room.

Get a pit bull. We got a female about 5-6 months ago and she's awesome. Pisses all over the place when she's scared and digs holes in what was once a nice yard, but she's lovable anyway.

No dogs in my future, my wife had to give her Shepard/Collie mix to her parents to take care of because the dog spent it's life in a cage while she was at work. I think she wants to get her back but I'm on the fence...

Speaking of getting things back... Drove my car home last night, while doing so I threw a SES and it decided it no longer likes Mobile 1 so it pushed ALL the oil out. Needless to say its going back to Adam today. Either the headgasket didn't seat properly or the head is warped.
**ck this thing!

pete, that really sucks. hope it gets sorted quickly, like by the end of the week.

josh, i like pitbulls. that may have to be my second dog though since my wife would require some convincing. plus she wants a golden....well she likes small dogs too so the choice is golden retriever or bichon frise (i f'ing hate those things along with all small dogs).

Dan, I'm with you. I hate little lap dogs...their freaking possesive and protective, expecially chihuahuas. I'm all about the big boys, Mastiffs and Huskies are two of my favorite. I also really like English bulls, and Bull Terriers ever since the movie Next Friday...

my wife was totally against the idea of getting a dog let alone a pit bull. mostly because of what she has seen in the media. this is despite the fact that her best friend works at a rescue shelter and has 2 pitts of her own. I wound up getting Avery from a rescue shelter in Media while Karen was away in Cali. She came home and was crying because she was scared of the dog. it took all of two days until she fell in love and every misconception about pitts that she heard in the media was out the window.

the story is kinda the same for all our neighbors. As soon as they found out we got a pit bull the parents said the kids can't come over anymore. it took a couple of weeks for them to see how clam and well behaved the dog was and now they come over almost everyday and ask to play with Avery.

You really have to watch your kids around pit bulls and bull terriers

This!

Whats the rush? I'm not around this weekend anyways. I suspect knowing what I know now it will be a few weeks if not longer.
I need to be more focused on my house right now anyways, my contractor is beating down my door trying to get in there to get started... I have way to much ish going on...

No just a random pic from a friend. I dont have a dog yet. My family has a Sheperd, Rottie, and Chiwawa. I hate the Chiwawa

Where is a good place to adopt puppies, I want a pit or rottie, but I want to start with a pup. I plow snow at an adoption place, but they make you fence your yard and alot of other bull****.

I did a lot of research looking for the 'right' dog and most shelters will require a home visit and that you have a fence. I had one put in specifically for that reason. In the end they never actually came out to the house to check it but I wanted a fence put in anyway to keep out other animals more so then keeping our dog in.

There is alot of good info here:

http://www.bulldogbreeds.com/discuss/

whatever you do, like was mentioned before DON'T go to a pet store. Rescue shelter all the way!
