Philadelphia's Classiest Drunkards
jims cheesesteaks FTMFW boyssss. heading down to south street to grab a bite. looks like i may be here for another "week" off of school to speak with some neuro specialist dude. apparently its not normal to forget things that happened over 24 hours ago? who knew? haha. later suckaaaass
I was hoping someone had a suggestion I usually just cook. Probably somewhere away from here for parking purposes. The chilis next to saks has good parking though.
the brew pub in manayunk is good and simple. there is a parking lot (you have to pay) down the street. parking isn't an issue.
jake's in manayunk has good steaks but not too too cheap.
i really like the ugly moose/the garage for food/drinks that is up shurs lane in manayunk.
johnny manana's is also not too bad that is in east falls.
there is a restaurant across the way from johnny manana's closer to kelly drive that is always changes. i wonder what it is now. it is a nice spot though.

Can't say I didn't call it
I am finally resting today, feels nice.. Went to el camino for a 3:00 lunch, ran into Doug as well, he was getting the evo ready for summer mode again and he got to meet Petey Jr. as well. Mr. Jr. came to lunch with us and slept while we ate and had margaritas, I still can't believe how quiet he was.

pete, i am glad you got my motivation behind the post.
good you got to get out for a long lunch with drinks. it was a good day for it.
i took the car out today and it is awesome. i thought i'd be used to the power pretty quickly but i got to get used to solid/consistent boosting and actually going somewhere when i put my foot in it. thanks again. it is also nice to wash the car and take it out and not have the exhaust tips and rear of the car immediately sprayed with black soot.

wow, what a crazy day!
started off well, got to thunderbolt @ 7am ready to roll. Unloaded the car and headed to tech inspection. While going thru tech the ****'s find a brake light bulb is out on the driverside tail light. Ok, no biggie I thought, I'll fix it when I get home... wrong. they failed my inspection and weren't going to let me run unless I fixed it. its about 7:30am and my first session is at 9:30, so i had to drive all over Millville looking for a damn 7443 light bulb. Finally found what i was looking for at the second auto parts store I went to and it was the last one there. installed the bulb in the parking lot and got back to the track about 9:25am to find the tech **** so I can get signed off. finally pulled into the gird @ 9:32, just about when all the cars in my run group have gone out.
I should have taken that as a sign of things to come. Went out for my first session and I did one warm up lap then started to push the car when all of a sudden my MUSE lower IC pipe blows off.
took me about 10 minutes to get back to the pits and in that time I killed pretty much everyone's first session.
this was my first PCA event and not the kind of impression I wanted to make. While I was in the pits working on the pipe everyone kept coming up and asking if my car blew up.
I had to explain 10 times how a MAF car works and when you lose an IC pipe it runs like poop.
SO, I got the pipe back on and decided to go out on the road to test it, rather then risk wasting another session for everyone by having it blow on track. Good thing I did because I got about 30 seconds into my 'test drive' and it blew off again.
By now its around 11:30 and the run group I was in is coming back from their second session. I decided to give it one more try, I pulled the pipe, wiped it down, put a new clam on and tightened the **** out of it. went out for lunch with the crew to test it and it seemed to hold!!
My third session starts @ 1:30 and I'm excited to FINALLY get out there. Decided I was going to run off wastegate pressure and just take it easy to make sure everything was OK, because a road test is nothing compared to a 25minute all out flogging on a road course. I took george3 from the boards with me and he gave me some valuable tips. I think I pointed every single person in my run group bye that session, but I didn't care, I just wanted to get one clean session under my belt and I did just that.
4th session I figured i'd turn it up a little bit and see what happens... the result... I made it about 15minutes in and the damn pipe blew AGAIN!!!
my day was done. Lucky for everyone else it happed right @ pit-in so I was able to pull right off and not cause anyone to lose track time. needless to say I will be switching back to my stock LICP next time I take the EVO to a road course.
cliff notes:
day almost ruined before it started due to a $1.99 light bulb
pissed off almost everyone in my run group
completed 1.75 sessions out of 5
spent most of the afternoon on my back under the car instead of behind the wheel
Here is a video of said 4th session, it might still be processing:

My buddy lived on Freeland (I think thats the name) which is right off Shurs for a few years, I've spent many the drunk nights at the Moose and the Garage. Great Place!

Muse LICP = Cheap Ebay crap.
Some stuff on Ebay is decent, I haven't heard any good things about this particular piece though.
Sucks you had to loose all that track time.
