Philadelphia's Classiest Drunkards
Let's see 4 minutes of run time, paying for it, and having to work or 100 minutes of track time, and not having to work on anything but my car or friends cars. That's a real hard decision for me.

looks like they're calling for rain late in the day tomorrow. that sucks
just got some R888's put on the vette and they aren't the best rain tire. might wind up taking the EVO now tomroow instead of the vette. if thats the case I'll probably bring the vette to the T&T... decisions, decisions.
morning bishes. half day for me and I'm out!

I have done both and ended up sticking with Autox for 10 years now. The reason why was simply safety, I am not willing to risk injury to myself now because I have a 3 year old son. My past track days have resulted in some kind of goofy offing of my car and scaring the **** out of myself. With Autox I seem to manage to off the car sometimes, but the slower speeds keep an element of safety that is not there when you are traveling 100 mph +.
Short run times does not mean it is not fun, I guarantee everyone who runs gets the rush just like you would on a track day, granted its a lot shorter time that it lasts. It is enough to satisfy me.
The working before or after you run is just part of the deal with Autox, its the Grassroots flavor! We don't need anybody to help, Autocrossers are self sufficient!
The day you spend at the event goes quick and to me is always fun. I like hanging out with everyone too, which is something that all the Evom guys seem to do at these events.
Last if anyone is apprehensive about coming the first time and not being good enough, no one who runs these events will pay attention to you the first time anyways. They are not watching your results. The reason is Newbs basically have no chance of winning at first, its like golf. You need to work at Autox/Golf to become really good, its not like you walk up and win. There is a Novice class for all new people. When you arrive on site we have a Novice tent and Novice walk through to get new people up to speed for their first event. Lastly there are always instructors to ride along to help you improve what you are doing. I recommend riding with the instructors at least once or twice per event the first season you start out. It was really very helpful for me. In fact I think I need to start riding with them again because it seems as though I have forgotten how to Autox the past 2 events I have run!
Why not this Sunday, little more relaxed than your typical event? Then u can come check out and try the real deal on the 25th. I understand why it can maybe seem intimidating to start, but they don't call it solo for nothing... all about u and your car, solamente
It's damn fun, sure to put a large
on your face

Ok, I can understand the seat time, but you have to pay for both track days and Autox? Your comment makes it seem like you get track days for free or something....

Sunday will be a different kind of event, but you should still get an idea of what to expect when you do decide to try it. at a minimum you can take a couple rides in peoples cars and see what a course is like at speed.
