Actually Pros are a killer on cars, 4 launches in an evo approx. 5 minutes time between runs causes the problems in Pro Solo, tends to overheat clutch discs. Plus as the event goes on more and more rubber gets laid down on the start which really has cars hooking up. Last thing is add concrete and watch them break.
My car's front diff went at Fed Ex Field Pro Solo last year in practice. After getting a quaife installed my car launch strong during the Toledo Pro Solo (concrete). Your typical Pro Solo will require 12 launches/runs. 8 on Sat. 4 on Sunday, then there is a super challenge you could get into to win some $, that means a few more launches added on.
Usually your first Pro will = burnt stock clutch if you are running any power adders. Stock Evo should hold up fine at a Pro if launched properly.
After fixing your clutch and going to your next few Pro Solos you will probably blow the front diff like I did, its quite common. Anytime you have extra power you can assume something is going to break at a Pro. Stock or mild power adders and I think an Evo will be fine IF launched correctly.
If you have a decent clutch and a Quaife front diff you are good to go to do Pro's with an Evo with nice power.
Since most of you guys drag race I assume you have experienced some similar breakage that I did running Pro's.
If you just do regular Autox events / Tours there is no reason for your car to break. No launching, 2nd gear runs that last an average of 40-45 seconds rarely causes any damage to cars besides cone marks and a little extra tire wear.
I have some rear pillowballs you can buy, you just have to give me 2 weeks.
Pete - don't sell the pillow *****, just get springs for the rear that are 2" shorter. I am sure someone on here has a used set you could try to see how it works. Whatever you do, the rear of your car needs to be lowered, the fender lip should be close to tire (right now it sits like my F350).....trust me The pillow ***** are good for the car doing Autox, gets rid of some slop from that part of suspension.
Also if you can lower your car a little bit more in front I think it would be real beneficial. Have you ever tried backing up your driveway to not scrape your lip? Or better yet crack open that wallet and get your driveway adjusted to allow car lowering! That would be awesome if you redid your driveway so you could have a lowered car.
Shoe- I love the car, what a great deal, I wish I could have a do over and buy an Evo all done up like yours. Motons, Stoptech brakes all around, cams... its real nice.. Now just align the car like I told you and lets see you run some times. Looking forward to next event ride alongs in your car and my car, I think it will be cool to compare the cars.

Didn't I beat all you guys too in a DS Subaru? My time was a 48.2 and I was 12th in PAX. For me that was pretty good, I usually do not drive cars I have never been very well first time out. Simmons car was a lot of fun, good power, handled well and was just impressive. What a great stock car to run Autox with, seemed better than a stock Evo 8 (never been in a 10 to know how they Autox in stock form). I do not like stock Evo's for Autox, they are total push pigs from what I remember.
