thunderbolt was awesome! pushed the car and myself harder than I have before. On the first day I was cautious while I warmed myself up from the long off season. After the first couple sessions I was still not where I wanted to be. I was driving in the intermediate group with an instructor who was pushing me out of my comfort zone. He was right in everything he was telling me, but I just wasn't comfortable doing it.
It took me till today to start to get back in the groove of things and actually do what I was being told. when I stopped trying to go fast and started to be smooth my speed really picked up. on the first day my top speed according to my GPS was 124mph on the one long straight. by the end of today I was hitting 138! 14mph difference is HUGE and it all came from slowing down and trying to be smooth. amazing how counter-intuitive this stuff is.
the highlights of my weekend were keeping pace with my buddy Ron in his spanking new 860mile GT3 RS on cup tires and lapping two guys who said my car wouldn't last the weekend.
EVO power BRO!
Also a BIG thanks to Petey Turbo for hooking my ECU controlled boost up and giving me a great road course tune. the car was rock solid all weekend.

Was a fun day, other than an nice cone count on my part! I think I had nine total for the day... One each on runs 1,2, and 4, and six on run 3
Lots of tweaking to do on the evo to get it were it needs to be.
Peter had some good runs today! I think he was the fastest car on street tires in SM. Lockett pulled out first, two guys in a wrx with sti parts on Hoosiers took second and third. I think Pete was fourth and I was fifth? Going from memory until the results are up.

dover was fun.
any improvement i made last summer was completely erased after some time off.
i went off course on two runs like a noob (it wasn't as bad as my first event because at that time i had no idea of how to fix my mistake. this time around i was going too fast in the one section and kept missing a pointer). my cleans runs were slow though and i was trying out lowering air pressure so was reluctant with going all out.
i rode with chau twice. that was interesting.

14mph pick-up on the straught is crazy! I know Simmon's posted video. Had fun, car def took took a step in the right direction.

I worked all day saturday, so I know how you feel.

Thanks to you my car def runs better on the autox course (and everywhere else). Spool-up is noticably quicker when coming out of really slow/tight corners. Thanks again for your services.

here is a quick video of the fun on Sunday @ NJMP
http://vimeo.com/21280521
this was the 3rd session of the day, heading back out after they threw a full course black flag because an STI went off around turn 7, lol.
Glad ya'll had fun yesterday. I saw Simmonz video and it actually looked slow compared to the speed he goes in other cars... I'm sure it was FAR from slow though. Anyone know what kind of tires Lockett was on, was it still those beat V710s?

Yeah, same old tires as last year. I raw timed him by a few hundreths on my star specs, but just clipped a cone on my last run. I've driven his car before, and it has surprisingly good steady state grip. Transitions are a little rough... Lots of roll to deal with.
it was an awesome course. Pretty typical philly design, short slaloms and fast sweepers with pinches. The straight section was a blast.
I also found it difficult to avoid the cones. Was really mad that I threw away my fast time of the day.
