I think you're correct sir. Part of me thinks the tires I'm running are the reason I didn't really notice much difference between the xp10s & xp12s.
Chu, how do you feel about that brake upgrade from Essex?
I'm not doing the essex kit anytime soon, but I would do it over a BBK for a couple reasons:
bbk = need to run larger than OEM wheels
bbk = more expensive pads/rotors
bbk usually = more unsprung weight
bbk = more $$$ than the essex kit
I know I still have a lot of braking potential in the OEM setup that I'm not even using yet. so being the minimalistic person that I am, I would like to extract all that I can from the stock setup before I upgrade. still though, the irresponsable spender in me would love to have almost 8# less rotating mass per front wheel and 20mm thick pads... too bad Carbotech doesn't offer their XP series pads for the AP calipers.
I am amazed how capable the oem setup is with only some el-cheapo rotors and a good set of pads.

Ask the guys in the thread that have purchased the kit what they think. First batches are still being shipped, and not many have them installed. I would wait to hear their opinions before rushing into it.

I never rush into anything. I'm not an early adopter. I still want to hear your opinion though, so if you don't feel like posting it on a public forum for whatever reason you know a couple other ways of contacting me...

I have no opinion on the matter, none for public knowledge at least. You can read all about the kit on the Essex site, and the controversy against the calipers in the thread. Thats all I have.
