Marc, I looked into these a few years ago. 1, they were discontinued because Baer was not selling them, so what you see now are old batches, unless Baer started making them again. 2, I have read from some track guys that while they are light, they don't last for track duty. I've read about the inferior metallurgy of Baer, and that they can't withstand lenthy heat build up. I think most people are using these from drag and autox, and not track.

Also, I've heard the Girodisc Ultralites also are no good.

 

thanks for your input. I noticed from the massive brake thread here that they are very light compared to most other 2-pc rotors (aside from the Ultra-lightweight Giro discs), but I didn't know about them not being sold anymore. I guess thats why I had a difficult time getting prices for replacement discs.

I thought Audi knew their diesels...? my buddy has a Q7and loves it. towed his 911 turbo on a steel trailer down to Shenandoah the other week and got 18mpg.
