I did a bit of digging, and as expected the cop was less than accurate. In PA there is a DB limit that cannot be exceeded, but not an all out ban on louder than OEM exhausts. Since there is no fine involved, putting the OEM CBE back on will likely save me a lot of time.

The one card I have to play though, is a judge in Norristown who may make a call on my behalf. I served on a jury in Norristown last year, and the defendant (who represented herself) and trial were so crazy that the judge told us afterwards to call him if any of us needed a favor. He felt bad subjecting us to such lunacy, but I actually enjoyed the hell out of watching some bat**** crazy woman go on about witches and bible scripture.

Slap on the oem, then go back to your aftermarket. Nothing you can do about it. Norriton is notorious for exhaust tickets cause all of those damn hondas with huge fart cans.

 

Marc fought his exhaust ticket and made a lengthy thread on here about it. He won but I'd be tempted to put the catback on a tell them to suck it. The new STi's are louder than your car by far. I cam hear my neighbor, who is around the corner, idling his car in the garage

 

 

FYI i asked a friend who was a cop before- he said basically they can ticket you for anything NOT Stock- it doesn't even have to meet the dB limits.

Well im finally getting my car fixed. The rental company was so kind to give me this to drive....kill me now!

 

i usually think it's ridiculous when people complain about what econosh!tbox rental they are forced to drive but that car really is a pure piece of ****. my sister was looking at them so i went along. i wouldn't spend more than $13k on them yet they sell for 18k-20k

 

I really enjoy the roll up windows and the manual door locks.

That thing is a beast, I drove this thing on the left side of the road while I was on vacation. I hit the wipers like 50 times every time I wanted to use the turn indicators that was fun. You can actually get out and run faster than this thing will accelerate.
