I'll be on the side of the road with the corolla and the Evo now.

I'm driving my father's 300C now.

Chu, watch that video I posted at 3:45 when he passes on the straight and imagine what it would be like in that car through turn 1 and 2 and just before 3.

You can find the link on most/all the events on MSR. I just followed it right from there... If you really want me to post it I will, but it only pertains to this one event. You plan on coming out to the Glen?

Pete, how much for the event insurance? $180 was what I think it costs from company I looked at.

After a couple of fees and taxes it came to $158. I insured my car for $18,500 w/mods (up to 90% payable).

Ok, I did $28000, so that seems like comparable pricing. In my opinion, insurance is a must with the value of these cars, my baller status is not on that level to be able to just tin can my Evo.

Its definitely worth paring for on some tracks imo, such as WGI that Pete is doing. I would buy it myself if I were going.

I think next season im going to work insurance into my budget for the whole season. When I checked it, it was around $1000 for 7-8 events. For now, I may just piecemeal it for tracks I've never been to.

This year I bought myself a 6pack of HPDE ins. Cost $612 for 6 events with my BMWCCA discount. Covered the car for $18.5k + $4.5k worth of mods (suspenstion & wheels). Not a bad deal.

I feel better about you guys and track days seeing you are insuring your cars. If you guys do enough events, someones luck is going to run out and they are going to have some type of incident with car. With that said hopefully I am not the guy with bad luck! No way I am doing an event without insurance, that is my plan going forward if I register for any HPDE.
