Philadelphia's Classiest Drunkards
i had most of my cars painted at maaco including my datsun. I had the datsun repainted at a shop (very reputable, but will remain nameless because they knocked off 1000 bucks for my trouble) and for 2500 bucks i got a ****tier paint job, a flat tire, and when i showed up to pick it up my power fc said the motor was revved to 7200 (redline on my rb25det) and it took 4 months. Then when i went to drive it home the car made it a mile before the motor took a **** because they hosed off the brake dust and water got in the harness. Overspray on the wheels, headliner, dirty seats and the list goes on and on and on. Maaco took a week and the paint lasted longer, cracked less, and shined just the same. Actually my car of the month shoot was w/ maaco paint. There is something to be said about a body shop being a corporation and having the ability to hold someone accountable for work. I did most of my own prep work, and i would go back there for any car i was building. I do not build show cars, just fun daily drivers that i dont want to have to worry about getting the paint messed up cause it cost me 5 grand. Is it for everyone? Nope. But it was best for me and guessing by the mods i see the general population on this site-- its underestimated for how good it is.

I came across a website called www.batfa.com that imports japanese cars over to the us. My question is has anybody done something like this and what is the process?
