Didn't the veyron need a special key to be turned on for it to have its full power potential & top speed unlocked? I could of swore i remember seeing that when they first came out but i honestly haven't looked at any veyron stuff since.
I remember seeing something like that on TopGear when Captain Slow drove it. Honestly, I just figured the GTR was some 1400hp beast...

YEp. It was on TG, like Pete said. the special key lowers the car and increases the HP.

robert, my last car was black. it seemed to always be dirty. i can drive my ww x in torrential downpours for 80 miles and it still looks decent. that is what i did when i went to my first tuning appointment. it looked spotless still until you got really close to it.

I need to be in VA the weekend of the 18th. This was planned months back. This weekend though, I had another family commitment and I blew it off for the Auto X. But since I will not be participating anyway, I am required to show up in VA again! I am sure I can make it to the event in the car, its the "pushing it hard" part that I am not comfortable with given the current weak clutch pedal. Just being cautious I guess. I know there's a good chance I'll get away with it, but I just don't wanna risk it on my DD. Sucks for me! You guys have no idea how horrible I feel about this whole debacle with the SSP piece.

I contacted them today to see if they were gonna try to ship it out today as per my earlier conversation. They postponed to Friday again apparently (I saw that coming). I will bother them tomorrow again, and I am pretty sure they'll push it up to Monday. I think this is going to be my first "bad" experience with a vendor in the evo-community. It has all the tell-tale signs.

I do have an idea though. I could probably show up for the HH on the 18th if its somewhere in Philly and start late for my trip to VA (7-ish I'm thinking). That way I can give Rob all the things I promised I'd give him as well, albeit, a week late.

Yes, the key goes in the side by the driver's seat. It activates the active-rear-wing and the top speed limiter I believe.

Don't you just hate it when you don't even get the chance to get even with such morons! I know I do.

you can do what you want, don't feel bad about it. I was just letting you know that you only need to use the clutch to shift into 2nd gear after the start. after that its just throttle, brake & steering. the clutch doesn't come into play at all. basically, as long as the car is able to shift into 2nd, which it sounds like it is if you're taking in to VA, you will have no problems.

Yeah, I understand. Thanks for suggesting though. I also forgot to mention, a friend left his eclipse for me to look after while he's off on vacation. I'm using his car for the trip to VA(with his knowledge of course). I'm not taking the evo this weekend. That would defeat the whole idea, wouldn't it?

so someone got a hold of my debit card number and got some work done at a garage and bought a dell computer.

my bank was no help and told me to wait for it to post to my account then wait 60 days to get my money back after filing a dispute.

i took the hypervigilant route and called dell and after multiple transfers through out the fine country of india, i tracked down an order number and got it canceled.

dell is a horrible company to deal with. none of their calls are handled in the US. i actually feel bad for the Indian people that have to deal with pissed off americans all day.

anybody remember the when conan obrien took his computer and hopped a flight to india and walked around town with the computer under his arm yelling the dell representive's name for help?

Lucky you caught it when you did. debit cards are evil, money comes right out of your account and sometimes there is nothing you can do to dispute it. thats why I only use credit... way more protection. if the statement comes and there is a charge you don't recognize, just dispute it and nothing comes out of your account.

I don't even own a debit card... cash or credit. The only way I roll.

On a more pleasant note I may be needing the services of Colonel's Custom Coatings... I just up a set of these http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=...26tbs%3Disch:1 for the Cooper. He claims only chips, no rash. She's thinking a charcoal grey...

I can get that color. I'm going to start stripping and re-coating mine one of the following colors next week after Chubachas valve cover is finished. Any input is appreciated. I can't make up my mind.
