anyone here do any mountain biking? preferably downhill biking? not much around VA or PA but just seeing if anyone else is into it. looking to get back into the game after a brief absence (cough concussions cough)

haha yessir. well im trying to get into downhill a little bit bc the normal trails are getting boring, but gotta save up for proper gear/bike etc. last time i went DH was at whiteface in lake placid. was wearing tshirt and shorts and normal bike helmet. was using an old bike (without disc brakes), brakes locked up in the mud and it was either bail or drop a 10 foot rock. chose the latter, ended up head first between a v-split tree with a broken in half helmet, eye swollen closed, and gashes all over.

wont make that mistake again. any DH = full face helmet and protection. but very hesitant bc of my head. cant afford another hit

 

^ might not be a bad idea to ditch the roll cage, just sayin.

conshy has nothing on Dub C (WC), but its getting there. starting to get nicer and nicer. I dont have enough experience to comment on DC vs Philly, but so far its pretty sweet, just different, and more freaking expensive. arlington is kinda like the up and coming conshy or WC, pretty legit

 

DC is alot of fun! I'll be working in Fairfax, VA in late September. The plan is to stay in DC on the weekend to party!

Pretty happy my lightly modded EVO was able to hang with a car of this caliber. I was fetching him hard in the corners but he was walking me on the straights. I was on my daily driven 255/40/17 Z1's and running only 1bar of boost, you can see the OEM boost gauge in the video. My instructor had me doing a lot of off-line passing going into turn 7 (the left hander before the straight), so thats why I'm on that line if you're wondering. I think without the instructor in the car and running my usual 1.5 bar of boost I would have left him in the dust. EVO FTW

Sorry for the camera noise and the occasional shaking on the straights, I'm going to need to get a different setup, this sony picture cam just isn't cutting it anymore. I think all the vibrations are taken their toll.
