Philadelphia's Classiest Drunkards
I'm really hoping Shaw was pulling an April fools joke. I can't envision how the hell you could get an intake o-ring into the intake mani without really trying very hard.
The center console mount Pete posted is what I prefer. A pillar is also nice but I don't like the steering column mounts at all. They're very hard to read when you really need to.
Wassup everyone?
My first post from the new crib! Verizon just left and after some major issues including having to cut big holes on brandnew drywall I have FIOS. I also only have one good phone jack in the entire house, luckly its in the kitchen and it looks I'll be getting a multi-pack cordless phone...
Move in day tomorrow, hopefully all goes well.
Shaw, be careful in there...

[quote=PeteyTurbo@KHC;8155258]I have done quite a bit of autox, but honestly I am a bit of a philly scca hater.. The incident with the focus and how they handled everything really pissed me off. The only event I look foward to doing is the grandview rallyx which I have done before or the allentown sportsfest. For the money everyone pays I think think they should have their game stepped up as far as equipment ect. and if all that money goes to insurance ect. why do they want to hide things like the focus incident if everything is covered.. Am ambulance should have been there
I was there when the focus had the incident. I actually teched her car that morning. I cannot speak about the ambulance thing, because I am not sure what the reasoning behind not having it or having it.
What I can speak about is what happened. I do not know if you were the guy in the passenger seat when the incident happened. So from speaking from my vantage point the incident happened in a spot where nothing should have happened. Meaning not one other car had a problem there the entire day (hundreds of runs). I bring this up because we noticed something after the incident. That car was running R compunds in the front and street tires in the rear. That is a major NO NO, those tires do not work right together. Either all R compunds or all street tires, not a mix. I think if she would have been on the same tires all around there would have been no incident. I am assuming she is new and was set up by said friend in passenger seat, I hope that was not you. Plus it probably would have helped if she was new to ride with an instructor.
As far as not discussing the incident, it is an insurance matter and the SCCA has strict policies on that. I probably over stepped my bounds already, but I think you have the wrong impression about Philly SCCA. I have never met a more helpful, nice bunch of people than our region and I am proud to say I run with them.
When I instruct a person who has no to little Autox experience, if they are kicking the *** end out like a drifter I let them know right away that does not fly and in fact is slower.
Please do not take offense to my comments, I just wanted to point out the other side of the story. I hope you can see past your past experience with Philly SCCA and come run with us again. I promise you it will be fun experience. Besides the fact there is no way in hell you are beating me!!!
Sorry had to throw that in....
