ahh my asian friend. this is one of my HUGE pet peeves. along with driving in the left lane. People, not saying you, but people need to learn to merge. in a merge situation you're supposed to let the car in front of you in your lane and the car behind him is supposed to fall behind you. its not a sign of weakness to let a car in front of you, its the law. again, not saying you did anything wrong, but you 'shouldn't' have had to speed up if people would follow that simple rule. not only that, but traffic would F L O W so much smoother.

I'm a passive driver. This situation isn't like the expressway where everyone was moving though. I was the guy in the right lane, and everyone else in the left lane. We were all at a light, and I'm the first car in my lane...so do you speed up or slow down? My theory is first in line, and others begind me would be merging also...so I sped up to get in front of the first car in the left lane, giving those following me a chance to get it also.

I'm not sawing I am some awesome autox'r but I have probably done 20 events in my life as far back as 99-00 in my galant, I even did a autox in the snow in upstate NY with Ramana legaman back when he was just a fellow gvr4'er. Honestly I learned much more in car control by myself doing my own thing then any timed event. Where I grew up I would just go to certain places and drive at the limit over and over, and when there is stuff you can crash into it makes you that much more focused on your surroundings and changing conditions . I have had many instructors ride with me, but the only feedback you get is for improving your time..I mean my first autox I did in the video (in the evo) I had a quicker time then the "instructor" has in his sti and he was yelling at me for swinging the back out lol

Not that this is the right or nonobnoxious thing to do but in places like where 95 runs in 476 where the left lane ends and everybody pushes all the way up to the very last inch to merge causing a huge back up, I'll sometimes pace slowly in the lane that ends just to get traffic moving again to merge. It pisses a lot of people off but nothing drives me more crazy when I am waiting in traffic in the right lane for ten minutes to have some dick in a BMW drive past you or side swipe you like you don't matter in order to merge 7 cars ahead of where he would if he waited.
I get tempted to behave like this with people waiting in line at the bank just to see their reaction.
BTW afaik, everyone is still doing atco.. I probably cant make it but I will try even if I get there late, I have alot of crap to tune that I am not looking foward to, evo's are a different story.
BTW MArc, ever see this video, the one that supposively does not exist!

I have done quite a bit of autox, but honestly I am a bit of a philly scca hater.. The incident with the focus and how they handled everything really pissed me off. The only event I look foward to doing is the grandview rallyx which I have done before or the allentown sportsfest. For the money everyone pays I think think they should have their game stepped up as far as equipment ect. and if all that money goes to insurance ect. why do they want to hide things like the focus incident if everything is covered.. Am ambulance should have been there
I've had couple issues with the way the region does certain things, but in the end autox is still the cheapest seat time around... and its a lot of fun.

I read a really good artical one time on it. basically it said that people see their cars as an extension of their homes. When you're driving down the road and someone cuts you off, its the same as if some stranger walked in the front door of your house unannouced. you would get pissed if that happened. Road rage is a serious problem, I'm guilty myself, but its usualy when someone takes advantage of a situation because they either don't know how to drive or they just don't give a ****.
BTW, are you going to try and put that newfound power down at Atco on Friday... or do you have yet another excuse???
