Well that aint no good...

Can you use the same rods and pistons in the 4g63? I don't know all the in's-and-out's of the 63 vs the 64...

why not just replace the piston rings with better fitting ones?

can this not be done with a reasonable amount of work or does the whole block need to be disassembled?

not to be a jerk but i'd say "stick with it josh and make it right" because you're way past the point of no return.

Because I have to remove the turbo system, the head, downpipe, oil pan, rehome the cylinders etc. Its a massive amount of work on a humch I cant prove. I have one more trick. I removed the pcv system on my new valve cover amd put 2 breather nipples on that connect to a T fitting and into my catch can. Its possible the catch can cant vent fast enough. Im fixing that today. It may work but Im not sure.

good luck Josh. Its takes a big man to admit defeat, or at least partial defeat.
Is there any difference in oil pressure with the 64 blocks not having squirters and stuff? are you required to run a restrictor with your turbo? Another quick question; did you stager the ring gaps @ 120*?

I'm down to come help rip it apart if you need someone to help James and Kenny hold the flash light. I need the experience for when I do my 64.

Josh, I could come over and keep Ethan company while you work on the car with James, Kenny, and Marc...keep him from distracting you.

Somene fab a bellhousing adaptor to set the hrizontal 64 longitudally so I can put it in my car.

I miss technical discussions ): The only tech being discussed on e90post is how to reflash your idrive. Or if matte or gloss black kidney grills look better

a quick thing you could do is to see if you rings are not seated and letting oil pass.... run the car for a while, the quickily remove the plugs.
if smoke starts coming out the plug holes you know the turbo is not the source of smoke.
