got the wheel back from repair after $500+ bucks and a month plus wait. got it on thurs- got tire mounted on friday. put wheels on sat afternoon, went to autox and cracked the wheel at the same spot.

they are sending me a return shipping label and taking care of it. the guy thinks the aluminum is too pure that they will have to weld in an oxygen free welding tank or something.

don't sweat it. this was your first event, right? Struggling on your own can make having an instructor more valuable.

I try to get an instructor each event.

I know I should take an instructor but I have so much fun trying to figure it out myself. I think once I'm able to go out and run consistent times that still aren't really competitive, then an instructor showing me what I'm doing wrong would be worth while. Right now I'm going out and running then going out again but 3 seconds fast. I'm doing so much wrong and figuring a lot out at the same time.

he told me his tire pressures are usually prime numbers because it's related to the number of turns on the course.

Not all instructors are created equal, some are much better than others. Personally, when I started out I had instructors in my car every event for a whole season. To this day I still have people ride with me to critique my driving. The instructors input will accelerate your learning curve drastically. Yesterdays course was so small and tight it was not a good platform for learning, a larger course with some more speed and variety of elements would be much more productive.

Bottom line is instructors in your car will help you get better time results faster than if you teach yourself.

Nice meeting everyone yesterday, sorry if I was not very sociable. My son there had me distracted the entire day, just to much to worry about between him and my car. I know people told me their names but I don't remember who was who, next event I will be more focused!

It was crazy between my little dude and my car leaking oil all over the place. I am an idiot, I forgot to secure the dipstick with a spring that came with my manifold, so it came out about an inch or two and sprayed oil all over my engine. This all started when Marc was on his runs, I happen to walk over prior to his last run and saw the oil on the ground and knew something was up. So after I clean it all up and put the dipstick back I sent Marc on his way, but I forgot to put the spring back AGAIN! Idiot big friqqin mess again!

I was just off my game yesterday. I cannot operate at full capacity when I am distracted. So with all that going on I feel like I just never got in a groove yesterday. Autox is so friqqin mental its not even funny.

Then you take the other dude who drove my car yesterday, Simmonz. He has a Eagles cheerleader in the car screaming her head off, legs all up on the dash, doesn't distract him at all. He ran the fastest time at that point, but hit one cone on the mini slalom prior to the finish. If you guys have a chance check out that video on phillyscca.com, it is worth watching just to hear this girl scream! He probably hit the cone when her foot blocked his view!

You sure were distracted. I almost scanned your retina rather than the barcode.

Glad you were wearing sunglasses.

Josh was a great instructor, yesterday's lesson was all about throttle control.

Ok, but you didn't capitalize my name or the start of your second sentence. You also didn't use THE before newly.
You just got schooled son.

Had to post this up in case some of you did not see this video..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=waCvm2SFiwg

For those of you that were not there, this video is of my co-driver Simmons and a Eagles Cheerleader riding along on his run. This would have been the winning run if he didn't cone it away. The pipes on that chick were absolutely amazing. She should get into singing or something (**** maybe)..
