Philadelphia's Classiest Drunkards
you guys have any suggestions for what else i should do while I have my head off?
i was thinking about the following:
installing the HKS 280 cams I have sitting around
new springs (which ones?)
new retainers (which ones?)
new valve stem seals (which ones?)
new headgasket - OEM seems like what everyone uses
ARP studs
timing belt (gates)
Originally I was gonna go balistic with pulling the motor, having the head done, boring the block and increasing displacement, but then I came to the realization that nothing is as reliable as OEM, so thats what I want to stick with (or as close to reasonably possible).

MR MR you got the right tranny. Talked to our mech today and he said the ford tranny offers a better warranty for the same price. But when it comes time for a motor get some prices from Jasper.

Headgames ported head
VC gasket
cam seals
spark plug hole seals
Large diameter breather lines and fittings
injector seals and o rings
plugs and COP from Josh
either way you know OEM works... gates just adds another variable in the future.
Thanks for the advice Petey. I think I'm going to skip the ported head... just don't feel like waiting around and besides I'm on the stock block still, I can already make enough power to blow the motor if I wanted to. Same with the COP setup, haven't experienced any misfires @ 27psi with my BR8ES's yet. I am however going to look into the GSC stuff. Is there really THAT much of a gain on the stock IX turbo over the HKS cams I have?
BTW, you guys were talking about books and ****, well I just killed a bunch of time reading about that ***** from Duke who wrote her final paper on the dudes she banged... good read!
