bump them up really high. Maybe 45? Like you said, you can let pressure out if you need to. At the novice school i ran 42 psi, and had lots of rolling on the sidewalls.

P21S wheels gel or car soap and water.

 

Soap, water and elbow grease. You need to wash them more often if their to the point where you have to use chemicals. The harshess thing I'll use on my wheels is SimpleGreen.
