Philadelphia's Classiest Drunkards
He was referring to the Orson Wells radio broadcast back in the 30's. IIRC they announced that it was made up at the beginning of the broadcast, but people who tuned in later thought that aliens really were attacking. It definitely created quite the sh*t storm back then.
not to change the subject or anything, but i saw this on another forum and thought it was interesting as it pertains somewhat to what we were talking about early with regard to ins and rates.

this is for 07-09 models but its still might apply to us VIII- IX guys.

and we all know that Ben was really meant to be born in the 30s

jk.
Carson going to dental school would probably be the better choice. $40k is nothing these days. Id be screwed if I had to live off that. You dont want to end up in my situation. I make really good money for my line of work but because I have no formal education in the field. Im SOL if I lose my job before Im done with school. Going to school at my age sucks. Im always the oldest in classes next to the professor and scholarships of any kind are nonexistant. Its all out of pocket and student loans. Take advantage of your youth and find a career you will love or you could end up miserable and disgruntled.
and the creators should be smart enough to know that people aren't smart enough to know that.
but why should they care? all they want is your f****** money, which people gladly give them
We should hold people responsible for their own actions, regardless of what a movie said would happen. It does, however, go both ways.

heck my wife thinks notebook is the gold standard on marriage life.
You don't agree with her? Mine is happy when I let her get 24 hours without a smack down.
As for the F&F thing influencing kids to drive like retards, I completely disagree. It did not start the whole street racing scene. People have been driving like dicks for decades. It used to be an everyday occurrence to see muscle cars drag racing down city streets. If anything it's lessened considerably. The difference is in the parents and the lack of discipline and respect. Most nowadays are afraid to punish their kids. They're more inclined to play the role of a friend before the disciplinarian. The 60's and "free love" are what really screwed the latest generation. Hippies gave birth to quasi hippies and the offspring of America suffered the consequences. I remember being 16 clearly enough. I knew the difference between right and wrong but I also knew my parents didn't give a damn about anything so I got away with everything. If I had known I'd get my *** kicked for a misstep I would have made drastically different decisions. Instead I was allowed to do whatever I wanted and I did just that until I had to enter the real world and wake up to reality.

Its probably the big challenge of the teen years. Parents quickly lose "control", some give up, others try the iron fist route. Neither work.
Your right, street racing has been around for a long time. I think our parents generation did a lot more than most of us. I'm pretty convinced that the culture has alot to do with peoples decisions. Maybe its more of the cowboy/samurai attitude that kills people rather than popular films, but i think it is all related. One big mess with no single cause.
Chau, car is really coming along nice... looked good out there the other day.

Back to the kid... Idk... I know I do stupid stuff on the road. Maybe not that dumb, but something can always go wrong, and if it does, your effed. Really effed if someone else is involved, esp some random bystander.

Oh, its purely f&f's fault. Every kid is buying some backyard 240 for 3k then destroying them on public roads. I kind of feel bad for the kid. Trying to impress some people and he ends up taking someones life.
What do you HONESTLY think is an appropriate punishment for a 17yr old in that situation. 5 yrs for involuntary manslaughter can really postpone the prime adult transitioning years. I think it may even cause backwards growth in rehabilitating the kid. I can see the family of the deceased victim demanding life in prison! But I just don't think its appropriate.

war of the worlds was a radio practical joke from i forget when. people were jumping out of windows because they thought the aliens were going to kill them anyway.
