ah i miss having that electric blue paint. it really sticks out.
so, being the patient kind of guy that i am i took the evo out tonight for the first time in 4 weeks. 2 months earlier than my doctor advised me to drive a manual again, but things went rather well.
as of this past thursday i am allowed out of my sling and therefore able to drive again.
i can't turn a steering wheel with the right arm yet, it doesn't move high enough or have enough power in it at this point to do that, but it works alright for shifting gears.
starting PT on monday so i am looking forward to getting back to normal so i can enjoy some racing next year.

Well, it was a good time today. Curt's and Dan's cars are nauseatingly perfect. Curt made 10's look way too easy (videos up soon). Dan's car trapped 143mph...yeah, 143mph. Jason's FP Green was showing signs of promise with 125mph traps, but his bald Falkens and ACT lockout weren't doing him any favors - still ran an 11.69.
I somehow pulled an 11.55 out of my *** and reached a time I can be happy with on stock cams/turbo. I think I was hitting the rev limiter (7800 rpm) before crossing the line, so I think that was messing up my trap speeds a bit. I'm going to try to see if I can get into the 10's on a stock turbo, but we'll see how much more power I get with GSC S2's, a ported throttle body, spoolin-up cop, and tuning on speed density - for next season (pending nothing breaks, of course). Good seeing all the other Evo owners again. Good times.

Good meeting you too the other day Steve. EatnPark FTW.
Chad, I'll get that video to you ASAP. Next time I'm gonna have to leave the camera on HD cause i'm not really happy with the quality, oh well. I'll be loading Curt's video and Jason's runs later today. Thanks for the camera work from MR2DSM.

Ok, I just wanted to get some clarification on Pittsburgh Raceway Park. Before I left last night, some guys from Wyotech were telling me that PRP is not an NHRA certified track, but rather an IHRA certified track. Apparently, IHRA is certified for 1/8mile, not 1/4 mile. I guess the difference is that IHRA tracks have a gradual incline beyond the 1/8 mile, so it should throw off your actual ET by about a tenth vs an NHRA track. Does anyone know for certain about this?
It just pisses me off because not only do the course workers suck, but my times should be theoretically lower as well. Also, I was told that one reason AWD cars have difficulty with traction is because you are forced to drive through the wet box whereas at other tracks you can drive around it if you'd like. It makes sense to me because I can't seem to get lower than a 1.70 60ft due to massive wheel spin, but at Waynesburg and Beaverun I was hooking and going everytime.

Good to see you guys on Sat and nice meeting some new faces also!
Curt that run was forsure impressive, especially on a Green!! I tried to catch you before you left but you looked a bit too busy.
Track was definitely too busy... I hope to get up there once again in the next couple weekends
