Local Pittsburgh meet part deux
Well, it was a good time today. Curt's and Dan's cars are nauseatingly perfect. Curt made 10's look way too easy (videos up soon). Dan's car trapped 143mph...yeah, 143mph. Jason's FP Green was showing signs of promise with 125mph traps, but his bald Falkens and ACT lockout weren't doing him any favors - still ran an 11.69.
I somehow pulled an 11.55 out of my *** and reached a time I can be happy with on stock cams/turbo. I think I was hitting the rev limiter (7800 rpm) before crossing the line, so I think that was messing up my trap speeds a bit. I'm going to try to see if I can get into the 10's on a stock turbo, but we'll see how much more power I get with GSC S2's, a ported throttle body, spoolin-up cop, and tuning on speed density - for next season (pending nothing breaks, of course). Good seeing all the other Evo owners again. Good times.

Ok guys, I need some serious help... Here is the situation. First and foremost, I can afford the X. But... I would also like to start thinking long term. House, marriage, family, etc... I know I couldn't live without an evo. And there are plenty of options around for much less of a price. I could trade it for a IX, VIII, I don't really care. I really don't want to spend more than $20,000. The main thing is also that I cannot deal with a car payment on top of repair bills. I know what to look for on a used Evo, but some things you'll just never know. What would you guys do? Keep the X? Trade it for a 03-06? Or bite the bullet and trade it for a regular car (ouch)? Pure financial. I know some like the X better than the others and vice versa. I loved both my cars, but money is the largest factor here. Although, I would love to have a IX since they are very rare and will become even rarer.

never ever ever go back to a normal car. that would just suck on all levels.
Funny how many people sell thier evo's and then a year later regret it and end up buying another....
+1 i park the evo all winter....by the time spring rolls around I am so anxious to drive it.....it would suck being stuck in anything less during the nice weather months...

Ok...how much do you owe on the X? How much do you realistically expect to get for the X? What interest rate are you financed at? Assuming you bought new, your interest will be lower on the X than the IX.
Anyone want a very well cared for stock Silver X?
Mike Jabba08 would vouch for how well I take care of my cars. I'd take $25,000 tomorrow. KBB suggests $27,000 in excellent condition. I wouldn't ask for that. 25,000 completely stock. Daily driven to and from work. That's about all.
