Anyone found a good way to loosen up the 3m tape that holds the wing on?

Heat gun? I used one to remove sticker residue recently. It worked great.

goo gone has worked pretty well for me on other badges and such. you could also try tar and bug remover.

Fishing wire. You can saw through it and then use something like goo gone to soak into the residue.
