Ahhh, I was looking in the wrong spot. Thats awesome - figured there was a reason I didn't see you at the last AutoX. How does Climb to the Clouds compare to Pikes Peak?

From the stories i hear. There were a few pikes peak hillclimbers that came out to run Mt washington. They arrived at the mountain and saw the road. They packed up and left, saying "i'm not racing up that road".

They are both great events and are pretty equal in history. Climb to the clouds is a more technical hillcimb with narrower roads and a few drops that are very close to the road. Now pikes peak is longer and much higher altitude which is a huge thing. Plus pikes peak also had more dirt. Altho, it should be fully paved by next year i believe. I do plan on running pikes peak within the next few years.

They are both amazing racing events IMO.

Flashlight Drags at Sunset Drag

Dave,

I kept the “trophy” in the EVO family

They didn’t have much of a turnout at Sunset Drags, maybe about 50 cars total. It a nice little setup, good food, can see the cars real close, nice area to park cars. But as a drag strip, an Automatic rules. It’s all downhill. It’s crazy trying to launch an AWD car and have it roll right thru the staging lanes. I had terrible launches, but managed to beat lots of cars….even beat a few muscle cars that had good launches. The EVO advantage wasn’t their when you roll down hill that is for sure….

Make sure you show up for Waynesburg to keep the trophy in the EVO family…as I won’t be there…have to be at work that day unfortunately.

Good work Jim! Just out of curiosity, what was your 1/8mile ET? I'll probably be at Waynesburg. I'm kinda surprised that more people didn't go to Sunset, but I have a feeling there is going to be a ton at Waynesburg. People are going to get tired of seeing silver Evos at the FLDs.

That was the lame part up there....no timeslips. All they had was a win light.

We just need to have some blue ones (Curt) and some red ones show up....

That's gay. Did they purposely shut off the timing devices or were they broken? The fact you could get a slip or idea of what you were running in the 1/8th was supposed to be the main attraction there.

I don't want Curt to show up. It's nice to have a chance at winning, haha.

I kinda like just watching you drive my car, I'm too damn old. My junk is in a million pieces, should be back together next week, going to be way different!

Never knew you were the kind of guy that liked to watch .

Seriously though, if you ever want me to drive that beast again, I'd be more than happy to. I feel like a couple more tries down the 1320 and I could pull a really good time out of it. Wasn't used to the clutch and I think I babied it too much. Also wasn't ready for how quickly the tach approached 8 grand through first and second . It was one hell of a rush .
