Local Pittsburgh meet part deux
guess you haven't talked to jeremy, or patrick, or frank, or really quite a few of the guys.
I think you forgot our national champ.....yes its a girl.............
First off, Nice job Dave!
Quick update then on how pittsburgh EVO's do in the twisty's.
Ran Mid-Ohio for 1 day in April. It rained and myself and Nathan (Boomn29) were the fastest cars out of all TT and race groups.
EMRA event on May 21. I took FTD out of all race and TT groups at the event for the whole weekend. I ran a 1:02.2 on the north track on a set of R6's and really think with a set of A's that i can be in the mid 1:01's. I pretty much stunned everyone from out of town (from the emails i recieved) and in fact many people from around here. I had all the corvette guys come over to see "what the hell went that fast" I was told last night from Mike Connolly of MC B"s that is was the talk of the town.. They thanked me for the business i sent them! LOL.
This past weekend i raced at Summit point in WV with the PHA. I was fastest fendered car and held my own against the formual and sports racers. I can beat those guys on the hill but on a track i have no chance. I ran a personal best on a set of old R888's. So, the car is deffinatly faster then before. The aero is really working. If you want to see the cars i get to have fun against, check out the overall results at the last pages of this. These cars are like Dave racing 8 sec cars in a full 1/4 mile race.

And now my full concentration is on running the Climb to the Clouds hillclimb. http://www.climbtotheclouds.com/ This is pretty much like the super bowl of hillclimbing. It is world renowned and has some great history. And is about as serious of a race as you will ever find.
I kno the other folks that Justin have mentioned have been doing some good stuff also. We are still out there!

As much as I enjoy the Fleshlight Drags, I would never, ever, ever in a million freaking years compare them to what Jeremy, Kristi, Frank, and others are doing with their Evos in the region. My car is set up very well for the 1/8th mile and it's getting faster in the 1/4 as I just ran my quickest/fastest time ever tonight at 11.29@122.1mph. Drag racing I don't feel is easy, but compared to Hillclimbing or Track Days - well, its like comparing Checkers to Chess.
If I had the money to dump into track events, I would do it in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, until I get my RN, that won't be happening. As long as I don't break something, I'll continue to drag race and hopefully this year I can be the fastest stock turbo in the country. I'm currently the quickest/fastest on street tires, so maybe with some slicks and going to a good track (i.e. anywhere but PRP) I can break 10s.
Good Luck Jeremy! Exciting stuff!
