Btw. Jon, when you gonna show up on some meets bro?
I mean, some of us down in central NJ meet all the time but you're no show dude
Kinda hard for me to make it to most of the meets. For one i work all the way up in Ramsey. I leave for work at about 8:30 and don't get home till about 9:00 and then on saturday I got class all day from 8 - 3. The only meet I went to was the one at TTR. I'll be there on AEM day. I'm thinking reaaly hard upon getting the plug and play. Or I shouldn't even mention that here .. afterall it is a car jacking thread.

I figured reverse but the way these things happen and how fas they do, I wouldn't be surprised if they'd steal it that way too.

{So...I'm curious as to how you can ascertain that they (the thieves) probably live in "Newark, East Orange, or Irvington..." Or is that just some kind of code for sayingthat the thieves are probably black? Just wondering whether or not you are clairevoyant or...what?}

Newark, Irvington, Orange, East Orange, Jersey City and some other Essex and Hudson County areas are known hot beds for stolen cars. I don't know if it is because you are from the left cost, but trying to deny the fact that a specific group of people in a particular geographic area under certain economic constraints may be of a specific race is ignorant. It is crazy to say that these people can't be of a particular race. If you deny that just to be politically correct that is great, but it is not reality. No one is saying for certain who is responsible for this particular incident. Is there a high likely hood that they were black, yes, but that is not a racist comment it is just the reality of the situation. It is the same as saying that someone form Newark who owns a waste management company is likely to be of Italian decent. It is not just something made up on the Sopranos, it is real life. There is no reason to distort reality just to be politically correct.

RECOVERED...
My friend received a call from the West Orange Police today, they said that the car has been recovered by the Bloomfield Police. That is all he knows right now, but I am going in the morning to see what the car looks like. I hope it isn't that bad.

My friend just got his STI on Wednesday and they stole it from his work parking lot last night. How bad does that suck, he had less than 250 miles on it. I helped him install has Alpine head unit and MB Quart components over the weekend. It is the second car they stole from him in the last 2 years, the last one was a 3 series BMW. The STI was silver with silver wheels and still had the temp tags on it. It was stolen from West Orange, so they probably have in somewhere in Newark, East Orange, or Irvington. I work in Newark so I am going to be on the look out, any NJ people who are in that area please do the same. These people usually keep these cars on the streets for about a month to make sure there is no tracking device. EVO and STI owners just be extra careful it seems these cars are a hot item in the hood, and now that the weather is getting better these people become more active in stealing our rides.
My two cents of why they are being stolen left and right. REGULAR WRX can be transformed into sleeper Sti's. Cant do that with a Lancer and the Evo two different cars.

Probably Lynnes Subaru in Bloomfield stole that ****... Also my freind just got a job at the Subaru dealer in Oradell, NJ.. not too far from these areas....I will ask him if he knows anything about the robbery.

I didn't go with him so I haven't seen the car yet, but my friend told me about it. The center dash plate and the head unit were ripped out. Two of the wheels were destroyed. One of the rear tail lights is shattered and there is body damage on the rear of the vehicle. There are about another 300 miles on the car. So much for a brake-in period.
