Got a ticket in Oregon... attorneys?

Hey guys I did a little research but all the threads seem to be for Washington lawyers. I need a little help in Oregon.

So I ran a yellow/red light here in Gresham, OR (it was icy and if I would have stopped I would have slid into the intersection). I got pulled over and got a ticket and I would like to fight it or have an attorney get it dropped.

Anyone know a good one? My ticket was $242...

thanks a ton,

BTW times are tough so if you know a decent one that dosn't cost an arm and a leg would be even better!

If you weren't going too fast you wouldn't of skid. Basic rule. No way they will throw it out. Bad driving in bad weather = big ticket. Grew up in Oregon and know they don't mess around. Sorry about your luck.

Regardless of what your opinion is I know an attorney will get it taken care of... anyone know one that actually lives in the area and not NorCal?

The attorney is gonna cost you a lot more than the ticket and it won't get dropped. Only way out is if you have witnesses that can testify that you weren't speeding and didn't run a red. It's true, oregon doesn't mess around. They may lower it, but I've never heard of one actually being dropped.

I hear you guys but I was not speedong, I was actually taking a left turn and I was behind a big truck so it was about impossible to speed.

I want an attorney, although I know it will cost more $$ I would like to keep it off my record.

I'd love to help you but you don't drive an Evo .

Try Paul Ferder's office. I don't know if they do traffic or not, but they are one hell of a criminal firm. (Out of Salem).

Ya man, no matter the cost get a lawyer. Moving violation equals higher insurance and Washington already rapes everyone on that. You will be paying for this for a long time. In the long run a lawyer will be cheaper.

Migs, Brandon USED to drive an Evo until he decided school was more important than fun. Hey Brandon did you get rid of it in Spokane area by chance? My buddy took in a gray gsr a few weeks ago that had obviously been modded but the parts were taken off.

Also, even if you can't get an attorney, usually they will let you mitigate it to an ammended fine where they hold it for a year and as long as you don't get any other moving violations they will drop it. You just have to pay the administrative fee.

Hope all is well with you man, I haven't seen you on here in forever.

Migs: man that hurts I have owned 2 evo and besides my 97 TT supra it was my favorite!!! But as mentioned I had to go to school and get an education, LOL. GO COUGS!!

Spooks I totally agree, especially because I am still young I was looking long term.

I havn't been around I actually left the US for about a year and did some aid work in Africa, was a great time. I may be headed back in a few months so if I could get this dropped or midigated I would def. not get another ticket within a year... cause I would be gone! ;0)

Thanks for all the updates guys

Happy holidays!!

If its about money, the cheapest solution is to show up and try for a reduced fine. If your record is clean, they'll usually reduce the fine by at least 1/3.

If its about the driving record, then you're going to need more than a lawyer to win. You'll need solid proof. Did the video camera in the officer's car happen to record your left turn?
