Acceleration oddity, question.

As I am new to the Evo, I'm not sure if this is normal or not, but when I accelerate hard, say in 2nd gear to redline, and push the clutch in and hold it in or shift into neutral, the RPMs hang for quite a long time, and then fall very slowly (relative, takes a couple seconds). It almost feels like the throttle is sticking, but it only does it when pushing the car. Normal or not?

Have either of your cars been tuned? Mine blips a little after tune, but drops pretty quick. That might be something Aaron/ER cleans up in the tune.

I know mine hasn't been like that in a long time, if ever. I honestly don't remember.

Probably just from the pig rich factory tune.

The factory probably held the rpm up so that shifting could be "smoother" (?). Lord knows people can't drive standards.

Awesome, thanks. I'll definitely have it tuned, after my first wave of mods (full TBE, UICP, LICP, and some sort of intake).

Yeah, Evo's decel slow. Might be from being a low compression engine or something, but it's normal. they all do it.
