. Thanks for the steam tip. The previous owner obviously didn't give two ****s about this car. Just look at how dirty the wheels where (my roommate thought they were bronze cause they were so caked in grime).

As It does I, I've only owned the car a week rest easy knowing it will all be gone as soon as we get a sunny day that I can wash it, polish it, wax it, wash the under-carriage and detail the engine bay

I used the PC 7424xp with an orange LC pad and Menzerna intensive polish as the base cut, then a green LC pad with 3M Finesse it III and finally 3M dark polish on a grey pad.
Waxing was Wolfgang v3.0 with a red pad. For the summer details a coat of Fuzion wax using a gold pad goes under that.

Just got here to WA. I'm living in Lacey and wondering if there is any 93 octance stationed in the area? I have an 08 gsr that I will be bringing up here next month and trying to make sure I'm good to go. I'm debating on getting tuned on e85 within a few months though.
@ Ryan
Never used a rotary type orbital. All I have is a 6" Ryobi DA buffer it has one option on and off no hook-n-loop for pads either just uses bonnets.

I did my first mod to my car today and surprisingly it was 100% free. Its funny that even an engineering masterpiece such as the Evo still has common sense flaws. Like the tiny speedometer off to the side with the steering wheel covering up half of it and the location of the additional gauges on the MR. Well I fixed the second one anyway.

However being in Lacey you'll have an E85 pump in town, which ER can help you out with a tune that makes you hate gasoline!
Welcome to WA! Don't let the rain make you soggy!

Ryan does AMAZING work, we've all seen how spotless his car is BUT for the price of a full deep clean, you can buy all the stuff he uses and do it multiple times yourself. Obviously you need to learn how to do it and how to do it properly. After Ryan and I chatted about it, he uses such nice products that it gets rather expensive to do a car and thats what a majority of the cost goes to. He doesnt even make minimum wage on a full deep clean detail! Id feel bad having him spend 8hrs working on my car.
Will do.
Why do you need to see the speedo? The tach and gear will tell you how fast you're going (which is most likely above the speed limit!
As said many times, the black on Evo's is a very difficult paint to work with. If all the black car owners had re-shot with whatever clear coat that BMW uses then it would be sooooo much easier! (on the detailer)
Your car really turned out well, especially to the touch. You were pretty shocked at how much contamination was on the paint and how it felt after a good detail.
Thank you for the compliment Mistaken! Back in the Mazda days I actually lost money on every detail as I upgraded the chemicals and added tooling.
Polishing knobs is what I do. All day, every day.
