The 05 Evo VIII did have the 10.5 hotside which the 03/04 Evo VIIIs didn't have. But the turbo on the IX is still a different turbo. Hence why you still see folks with the 05 VIII's swap in a IX turbo.

go with something that you wont ever have to upgrade....you never know when a FP Red etc will pop up uber cheap

ETS 3.5 is probably your best bet. It'll do good from like stock to 600 whp probably?
