Yeah. I was looking at the ws70s. Discount wants 840 for everything. I guess in retrospect, I'd rather pay that, than wreck my car, go through insurance, or total it and not have one. Haha.

Winter/snow tires owns. I've said it before, they will kick the living **** out of any all season tire. And you don't even have to use them in the snow exclusively. Temperatures in the low 40's and you are benefiting from traction for turning, stopping, accelerating. They are a great investment and you can run them all winter here in WA. Come summer time run your sticky stuff.

Hankook Icebears are what I ran last year, and they were pretty good, but honestly, I much prefer the Blizzak LM-60's. Reviews say there were squishy/soft sidewall, and they are, when pushed in the dry. They completely own in the snow and ice though. Stable driving even at speed on ice/slush/snow. Not once did I feel like I was going to lose the car due to traction loss, and I had no trouble going anywhere. At all.

What type of potenza are you running, and what size? Re960as re970as re050
I love driving in the snow but f**k the chunks of ice in the middle of the road and thanks for braking bumper. But I think it will look cool after I cut it up and do a little moding

When I saw the stickers on my evo saying to never drive the OEM tires on snow, I knew I would end up buying winter tires.

Based on many recommendations I bought Blizzaks and I have to say they were worth every penny I paid for them this past week. There was not one single moment throughout the week where I felt like I was going to lose control of my car. I drove carefully of course, but then again I don't have a great desire to shell out money on repair bills for a stupid missestimation of my own abilities.

Anyways, Winter tires are way worth it.

Plus it gives me an excuse to leave these on my bbs's and buy rims come spring.

Where was this? I don't know where else to look other than Big-O, Les Schwab(less likely), and discount tire.

$600 mounted and balanced? 235/45R17?

Another reason I want to swap these out is so I can get the RPF-1s fixed. Passenger side wheels are jankasaurus rex.

Fffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu! This is ridiculous!

This is right around where I grew up. Unbelievable how all the people in the BMW survived with mostly minor injuries. E46 testament to safety.

Assuming you drive Novelty Hill in your commute, snow tires are a must, driving up or down W Snoqualmie Valley road. No way I would do that road without solid traction tires when it freezes. I'd still be worrying about everyone else's car/truck, though.
