Quote: Nice build man good luck.

What exactly is the difference in max revs of the 2.1 (which is a 4G64 with a 4G63 crank), a 2.2, a 2.3, and a 2.4 long rod and a 2.4 standard?
2.1 - 9k
2.2- 8.5k
2.3 - 7.8k
2.4 - 7.8k
LR2.4 8.1k

Those are based off piston speed. You can rev higher but how much longer your motor will last is in question. A lot of 2.3 guys rev to 8.5k and have no problem. You have to get into the nit-grit and math to determine where these above motors should rev to safely.

Quote: ^wha? Your motor is done but the car not ready you mean? Not until the Black or did I miss something?

I thought you squid types were supposed to be don't ask don't tell?

Rock, saw the TT and 14" brakes. Insane Z you have along with this Evo! The 4 other moufs I have to feed come first for me.
Correct, the motor is done i believe but waiting on the Black now and motor break in. Also waiting on my ported hotside I expect the motor to hit the dyno the third week on May at the latest.

Dam I'm telling you bro you ordered the wrong timing belt . The 4G64 head is a Sohc and it will not be long enough to fit . Either you would need to order the 4G63 belt or do a little research on the Galant/Eclipse forums to see what belt you would need .

was about to say i ordered it all form marti at slowboy and i asked him about the belt and using a 4g63 belt you would have to readjust the idler pully to get it to fit and have adjustable camgears. SBR builds 2.4 all day everyday he already knew what parts i was going to need. I dont think marti would sell me something that would not fit. Since he builds these all day long.

I talked to John Bradley and this is what he told me as well

"Sounds like you have everything you need. The timing belt is the same, just lest tension on the idler pull when you go to tighten it up. The waterpump is always a custom piece and has to be welded on to make it line up correctly. You cannot simply use the 2.4 waterpump unfortunately since it has a different offset on the pulley. Other than the cam gears and waterpump everything else is the same."

I will get JMS to do one for me hommie i have one peace left to get man. A replacement I beam rod as one of them was shaved alittle. Now after talking to Marti at slowboy he told me he has seen people shave one rod for balacing and it works but they dont do it. JMS said we can put it together with it but dont be surprised if bad things happen so im getting one new rod now. then they have everything to slap it together. Next up is Carlos with pics of my mona lisa manifold, fp black hotside, and o2 housing coated. he said he should have them done thursday and my guages and cams coming in this week. SO next week should be go time with them putting stuff together .

Already. Make sure you post alot of pics, and take a video of it so we can all see what it has. I been waiting for a minute to see this thing in action. Congrats man. Oh and your going to love that twin turbo set up. My brother in law has the same twin turbo kit on his Nismo 350z. His car is insane.

ill be worried about the Z when its the Zs time to shine right now collecting parts on it still. Built shortblock is next on the hit list. Probaly going to get it after end of summer as its going to be 2750 for it. Kind of hard to post pics with me not being down there really. have to rely on the buddies i made down there like carlos to snap new shots but once all the parts in the mail currently arrive this week beginning of next week should be plenty of action and pics from JMS. the most important parts the timing/serpintine belt and waterpump adaptor were ordered today. Once Jorge gets the shaved rods center to center measured ill be able to get the last part needed everything else is paid for. Im at work currently so im going to add up total cost so far spent on this car exterior interior engine just cause. i know i have 195 more to spend on the rod and pay carlos once he is done with all the coating 250. Have the money just waiting on the information
