That's a really good point. I really like D2's and up until this point haven't heard any negativity from them. It seems alot of shops use them with great success, and of course I have not heard any negativity from the Ohlins either.

Back on topic, ET have you made any forward facing top mount manifolds yet? (in twin scroll t3 form of course)

On the D2 subject
all this extreme tuners engine stuff is simply amazing.absolutely unbelieveable.total high-end. and then you see D2 brakes and D2 coilovers in such an amazing(and i guess such an expensive) car.how did you get to the idea of using such a crapy manufacturer?your engines are a work of art, what does d2 have to do with that?
i'm not just judging by pictures or forum threads.my friend, who was european Radical cup champion(if you know such) and also drives a gt3 cup in vln-24h races at the nurburgring has a 500+hp evo6.he bought a set of d2 coilovers.his laptimes with them fitted were worse than with the standard setup.
One of my friends tried to use the d2 big brake kit on his race-z350 in a 4hour race.he ended up using stock brembo setup because the d2s started to fade and leak badly after a few laps.
i cant understand how someone spends a fortune on a fantastic engine and transmition and then buys crappy other parts..

I totally understand where you are coming from but you also have to realize what the purpose of this build is. The car is going to be a street/drag car. If I was road racing, time attack, etc., I definately would have chose a different setup for coilovers. But I do appreciate your critics, thanks

doesn't make sense

all this money poured into the motor and D2 coilovers and brakes? these are made in china. quality is horrible. cheap coilovers to drop the car for looks. I had these and megan coilovers. D2 on my civic and megan coilovers are several cars including a 350z. took them to the track and they straight suck. only reason why a person would use this in a expensive build like this would be sponsorship. KW, Ohlins, Bilsteins, etc. don't matter what the car is made for, quality is quality. would you want to take a chance with a car not stopping? don't matter if it is drag racing, time attack or autox

I'm only using D2 for coilovers and not brakes. D2 are proven coilovers for drag and I plan to stick with them unless I see otherwise when I drive the car. I can always swap out for different ones down the road if they are not up to par.

Considering that most of the people I see running D2s have their cars dumped... I would say the poor performance is due to the ride height.

They are just saying, if you're going to spend the 10 grand for labor alone, then parts on top of that, it should the logical idea that you're simply going with the best out there, and that's why you're going to the best shop out there. So you might as well spend a little bit more money for the good suspension. You might have a 1000whp car, but that's just going to exponentially increase any shortcoming with the suspension.
Your money though.

Keep us updated with pics often

Im all for saving money where you can. Coilovers are easy to swap as it is.
Ive had D2 coilovers. Ill share my experience with you guys.

I had them on my wrx from 30K miles all the way to 130K miles (sold the car to buy an Evo). I rebuilt them once, only reason i rebuilt them is becuase i was in an accident where i bent the lower control arm, hub bearing got messed up, and bent a coilover shaft, It was a hard impact. I used my car for Rally cross, Road Course, drag racing, and alot of screwing around in empty parking lots, rain, snow, dirt. You name it. My car was lower then stock but not dumped (i hate slowing down for bumps on the road). I never once had a problem with them! When the Evo is ready for coilovers i may use them again, we'll see.

Ill look for pics and post them if i find them.
