I mean that's cool if that's your thing but in the end of the day if the car is NO fun to drive (unless your doing 160mph) and beyond that in regular everyday traffic it just doesn't act right (idles like crap, is a b!t#h to start from a stop light, acceleration under normal conditions suks) what's the point right? JMHO, but I think you are of that same mindset yea. Please continue as I am over here taking notes. I am about to drop the motor/tranny out of my car to address some leaks and some other stock components that need to be modified.
Nice car ..nice build

Green on 93:

30r on 93 with the same supporting mods/cams:

Yes, the Green ran 5# more, but it just seems that the 30r's don't perform well enough on these cars to justify the purchase, seeing as you have similar response and make a ton more power with a 35r on a .63 housing.

I had to weigh the exact same choices you're making, and honestly, you can get the response of a Black out of a 3586 if you have the right turbo kit and supporting mods, while making a ton more power up top too.

Also taking into consideration, I paid $1500 for an ENTIRE T3 setup with an HTA3586, ready to go....A used JB FP Black sells for that, and isn't half as reliable as the 3586, not to mention you can sell your stock frame stuff and knock half the price off the T3 kit.

For the reliability, the potential for future upgrades, and price, I don't think I'd ever put a stock frame turbo on my car.

I didn't bother tuning my car on the IX turbo. I just kept it on there for putting around while I saved up to go T3. 400/400 would be a nasty potent street setup though that's for sure!

If you do go T3 I would highly recommend getting a HAFE cast kit like I got or having someone build you a small tube header, because both will spool ~400rpms faster than a normal tubular manifold, make a boat load more torque, and won't become a restriction under 700whp or so.

For intake manifold I would highly recommend looking into Curt Brown's Extreme Ported stocker. It made 40whp more at 4500rpms than the legendary ported Skunk 2 and still made 3whp more up top on an FP Red. Just food for thought.

Good luck with your build!

Do MPH to Gear ratio conversion and tell me why comparing those two graphs is retarded.

There's this:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...e-hta3076.html

And this:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...076-93oct.html

Or this, when it was on the 2.0L:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...ns-evo-ix.html

30r makes at most 30whp more on pump gas over a Green while losing at least 500 rpms of spool from what I've seen. Not here to argue, just saying that that's where I got my ideas from. I'd be all ears if you have a graph that says otherwise, but it's just what I've seen.

Oh, and have you seen this graph comparing S2s and S3s on a 2.0L?

Where do you gentlemen get your ceramic coating done? I'd like to have my manifold, exhaust housing, and 02 housing coated after it gets ported.

I was going to use Liquid Powders, but have never used them for anything, so I wanted to see where you guys get your stuff coated before I pull the trigger.

I had my headers done with Swain coatings.

A friend of mine who researches EVERYTHING and spares no expense on his builds used TurboX coatings on his E46 turbo parts. I believe it's Tech Line Coatings.

I looked into Swain Tech, and they want far too much money IMO, and I hate the look of their finishes, so I didn't want to go with them.

Obviously this requires a comparison. I was looking to do the ChromeX finish seen on most of ToxicFab's stuff, but he'll only coat his own products.

Liquid prices are as follows, and they're able to do the finish I want.

V8 Long Tube Headers $250.00
V8 Short Tube Headers $225.00
V8 Cast Exhaust Manifolds $160.00
V6 Long Tube Headers $225.00
6 cyl. 1 Piece Long Tube Header $150.00
V6 Cast Exhaust Manifolds $120.00
4 cyl. Long Tube Header $125.00
4 cyl. Short Tubular Header $100.00
4 cyl. Cast Exhaust Manifold $80.00
Muffler $50.00
Motorcycle Muffler $45.00
Turbo Housing $65.00
O2 Housing/Turbo Outlet $60.00
Heat Shield $40.00

Thusly, I'd be able to get my header, 02 housing, and turbo housing done for $205, when just the header is $250 from Swain.

I looked up Techline, and they make exactly what I'm looking for too, so I'll have to shoot TurboX an e-mail. Thanks for the heads up!

At most? LOL, first link you sent me was 40whp over a red at the same boost level.

GTX3076R is where its at. On 28psi I made 504whp on 93oct Sunoco. Going to push it to 30 and try to hit 550 on some 100 unleaded.

I suppose we should be comparing apples to apples and not apples to potatoes. I have no knowledge of the FP lineup for Subaru.
