EVOlutionary's LR2.2L MIVEC Build - Titanium Inside :)
Generally engine stands are punting up a tiny but where the bracket goes into the stand. Are your stands level? If not like most I have seen are you shimming it or modifying it to be a level rotation point?
I am going to replace the front caster with a levelling foot. If when mounted the car does not have enough ground clearance to rotate fully I have some 1.5x3" stock - I'll cut the engine stands and weld in a 1' extention to raise it up some more.
Well I have the car mounted up to the "rotisserie":

A learning experience for sure. I have not tried rotating it yet, as I want to wait until I have a friend to assist. I can tell that my CG is too high. The thing wants to flop over. I am going to have to raise the mount points/lower the chassis height in the stands. I also modified the stands a bit and added some wider supports to keep the whole thing from falling over.

I am hopefully going to TRF ( http://www.thompsonracingfabrication.com ) in Southern Michigan next week to discuss their involvement in the build. After meeting with TRF I have will decide exactly how much of the cage to do myself and how much to leave to them.
I just sold some land and made a bit of $$ off it. I was planning on using the $$ for the car build, but now I'm thinking it's time to get a new home - something with a few acres and a nice barn/workshop. I'm running out of space here, especially with all my new tools!

Rotisserie V1.0 done. The center of gravity is too high, thus the more I spin it the more top heavy it feels and wants to "fall over" or continue rotating. I am going to re-do the chassis mounts to lower the car, then add in a vertical extention to the engine stand. Lower the car 6", raise the engine stand 12" . . . that should get closer to teh COG and also give enough clearance with the ground to let it rotate 360*

I know . . . coming soon. I bought a tool to do it myself but it is a PITA, so I'm going to have a glass shop come and remove them. . . but I can tell I'm probably 100# off, so it's going to take more than just the windows
I saw this and thought of you. It's pointless for a one time use though...

Probably would have been the same price to buy it and use it, then sell it vs. the time and materials spent to build my own. . . I spent some more time on the car tonight. Also did a bit of practice for seam/stitch welding, testing different settings:

And I removed the passenger side seat mount. The floor without this is VERY flimsy. Pretty surprising to me. I can see now how a poorly designed race seat mount could rip right out of the floor panel. Going to remove the driver's side tomorrow.
