Small update. Picking up a stock turbo-back exhaust and stock springs tomorrow. I'll have the Teins up for sale. Doing some work on a local guy's bimmer soon. The two of those should get the machine work done on the motor so I can start assembling. I have a head gasket, so that'll at least let me bolt the head on the block. Then I'll mainly need a gasket kit to start piecing things together. Hopefully I'll have a better update soon.

Edit. Ended up getting a stock turbo-back with a brand new car and a full stock suspension from a local guy. Great deal and I happened to be about 5 miles from his place yesterday. Putting everything on this weekend.

Also, won an ARP Stretch Gauge on eBay yesterday. I think someone is getting me bearings for my bday. To the machine shop it is!

Even smaller update. Although I didn't get around to installing the stock suspension, I did bring it to the office today to clean when I got some spare time. Looking good so far. Pics to follow. Also polishing up the tip on the stock exhaust.

A little bling for the interior. My buddy knew this was the shift knob that I was wanting and picked it up to say thanks for helping him with some work on his Z and as an early b-day present. I love it. Perrin knob. Black/Fat.

Edit:

Mail just came and brough my ARP stretch gauge!

Edit:

Cleaned up the suspension. These have 70k on them. Replacing the 80k suspension that's on the car that has Tien springs. Happened to get a great deal on the assemblies. The others will be up for sale shortly. PM me if you need them.

They'll get another cleaning when I do the wheel-wells.

Productive night. I'll post pictures later as my cable isn't handy.

Installed the stock suspension. Easy enough. One thing that caught me off guard, though, was that the front springs weren't seated. At all. I'll figure out what's wrong tomorrow, but the Teins are just floating around. I can't imagine that they're supposed to be that way.

Rears were easy, too. I do have a question about the rear lower control arms, though. Are the bushings in those supposed to be super loose? I took a video and will post tomorrow. I wonder if it's an age thing or if they're just super compliant stock bushings. Edit: I'm reading now that they are spherical type bushings. I'm now thinking it's normal.

Hung the stock muffler and mid-pipe. I didn't have any hardware so it's all up with zip-ties. Gets it out of the way, at least. Put the front wheels back on and lowered the car down. Nice to have it looking more normal, now. Really hoping to make some real progress soon.

You can replace the bushings in the lower control arm if you want. I have noticed on lower mileage Evos that the bushings are stiffer.

Well, after checking out the situation this morning, it's now super obvious that the springs have been cut. Man, what a waste.

Happy birthday

Got the same mats in my Evo (Brand New) . Love them and they look very nice in the car. I might be buying a second seat just incase they run out of these mats at the factory

Did a little work on my spoiler yesterday. Previous owner had sprayed new clear. I don't know if he sanded and prepped it, though. I just thought I'd see how it looked with some elbow grease and love.

This is how I bought it:

Started wetsanding. Started with 800 but had to move to some 400 to remove the really built up clear:

Better, but you can see a thin spot:

I ended up using 800, 1000, 1500, and 2000. Then I came back with rubbing compound with my buffer and then M105 and 205. Cleaned up really well, but it's all going to have to be sanded and cleared again. Lots of exposed spots:
