Not perfect, but it's much better than when I got it. A cold wave hit as I was painting it, so the wrinkle didn't form as well as it should have. I cured it in the oven at 200 for 20 minutes (my wife was thrilled). It helped.

Things I discovered today.
Hooked a battery back up:
I, in fact, did not fix my sunroof. It moves back ok, but then starts clicking. It moves forward about 2 inches at a time and stops. Tilt isn't working. I think it's in the wrong position on the track. Another project awaits me.
My windows go up and down now that I've removed the alarm. That's a bonus.
I have no foglight bulbs. PO must have had some nice ones and removed them before I bought the car. I'll pick up some sexy yellow fogs.
The next couple weeks should bring some big progress. Stay tuned!

Here's a fun dyno, just for kicks. Blue is a run from a stock Evo (Not mine, thanks to ER for the runfile). Red is the best pull I made in my NA 330Ci. Cams, headers, full 3 inch exhaust, throttle body, canned tune.
I think I'm going to enjoy the Evo.

Just ordered a handful of parts from Mitsu. Stuff to get stuff off the floor, basically. My muffler is zip-tied to my mid-pipe, so I ordered gasket and bolts for that. Intercooler is leaned against the wall in my garage. Ordered hardware to bolt it up. Hood vent is on a shelf. Ordered the stuff to slap it on the car. All that little junk adds up, but I get a nice sense of accomplishment when small projects are done.
Ordered a set of yellow Nokya fog light bulbs, too. Yay ricer mod!

Paid for a couple other items today. C
Used charging harness. Mine had some problems and I wanted to replace it.
Used front O2 sensor. The PO kept his aftermarket O2 sensor housing and said he couldn't get the sensor out.
Used upper timing cover. Mine was broken, I think... I hope I didn't just goof up there!
Used GrimmSpeed 3-port. This won't go in right away, but will be fun to swap in once I start tuning.
And I put down a deposit on a Perrin intake. EvoM member is nice enough to hold it for me until my next check! Also won't go in right away, but I couldn't pass it up, as it's the intake I knew I'd put on the car.

Thanks guys.
If anyone reading this has a few parts for sale, I need a lower timing cover and the hose that goes from the stock UICP to the BOV.
Also, picked up my rods from the machine shop today. Block will be ready by Friday.

Pulled out a piston this morning to start cleaning
I knew I kept this stuff for some reason. 10 year old can of MCCC:

Before:

During:

After:

I may soak it for a bit longer, but I'm not concerned with the little bit of carbon left. Pretty happy with the results. One down, 3 to go!
Question about rings that someone may be able to answer for me. They were in good condition and pretty low mileage, so I'm reusing them. How vital is it that they are positioned according to the FSM if they've already been broken in? I read that it was mainly for first time start-up. I'm going to do it anyway, just curious. The oil ring is going to be a PITA to get lined back up.

Went home at noon to do more cleaning on the pistons. While waiting for the chemical to work, I started going through a few parts that were just in a plastic bin that I got with the car. One was the EGR solenoid. Not the one that bolts onto the side of the intake manifold with the diaphragm, but the little 3 port solenoid.
First question. Where does that bolt up??? I found the vac diagram and I understand where I run the hoses, but I can't figure out where the bracket bolts up. A pic would be great. I'll eventually remove the EGR, I just want to make sure I can get it in and pass emissions and then have time to delete it properly.
While I was under the hood, I realized that all 4 of my injector clips are trash. Just ordered a replacement set of easy clips from Spoolin Up.
