Just loosen the 4 big bolts to drop it, there are two bolts farther back you'll need to removed. It's easy

thanks man. i will do that tomorrow.

i finished painting the new bedroom a bit ahead of what i thought it would take so i got to spend more time on the car. i removed the heater core stuff and cleaned up the garage as it was getting pretty cluttered. tomorrow i have to work on the house some and if i have time i am going to lower the K member and get that sway bar out and see how far i get with removing the brake booster and clutch master. i can not wait to power wash this thing and start sanding with these scotch brite pads.

thank you everyone for all your help, tips, comments.

Just did the front sway bar myself, Remove the bolts that hold the steering rack to the k member, that way , when you lower the k member ( 6 bolts), you can get access to the sway bar bushings bolts. then you kind of snake the front sway bar out of there.

I did not have to drop the entire k member down to do this.

where are the pics of the new cnced pieces

Ok ok ok. I wasn't going to post any until it was .100% complete. When I get home I will post up some teaser pics. I still need 2 "tabs" welded on. The part came out lighter then expected. Don't get your hopes up guys. This is more or less one off and won't fit 90% of your cars. More parts to come after this is completed as well.

ok guys. here it is. keep in mind these are not finished. almost done though. i had to take them home and make sure things are lining up properly before we complete them. you guys know i am a weight reduction loony. well i have made it to the level of making my own ****. these are custom made CNC seat base brackets for my Sparco EVO seats. this is the first thing of a few i want made. the original brackets weighed 10.1lbs EACH. these new brackets weigh 3.5lbs EACH. we could have made them a bit lighter but if my *** is under it i kinda wanted some structure for safely. they are 6061 plate 1/4 thick. i will also not be using my sliders anymore either which weigh 4.9lbs each. i never moved my stock seats and i never moved these. this is a total of 23lbs and nothing was cut. that is pretty damn good if you ask me plus it has my damn name CNC'ed into it. HOOOOOT. to bad you wont see it. here is the pic of the almost finished part and the old metal seat base.

ok and here are some pics of todays progress. i am almost done and ready to wash. the only things i have left to remove and the fuel lines and fenders. then i can push her outside and wash her down. i still have to remove 3 things but ill get that done before i wash it. other then that i cut off what i do not need or want and i just need to trim them flush.

thanks guys.

thanks a lot Mullen.

i frgot to tell you guys and sorry for those who are waiting. the driveshaft i did not order it yet. i know i said i would but i also told the company it would be a while before i can get a review and pics going seeing how the car is nearly stripped. i want to make sure i can give them a full up to date review. i will be ordering it once the engine/trans is back in and the TC is being rebuilt. no need for that type of money to be tied up or sitting rolling around on the floor. with how much this car is apart i barely have room to work as it is. most of the parts i ordered are either being made, or in my living room along with all the parts i doo not want getting scratched in the garage. nothing like having company come over to sit with carbon hood, sparco seats, and other BS. my girl friend wont have anymore parts laying around.

Only EvoDan would have CNC seat base brackets made up, lol! Nice weight drop though, they look good too, even though you won't really see them, haha...

it does suck they wont be seen but the weight drop is huge and i know they are under my seats HAHA. i could have made them a bit lighter but i would rather them be strong and reliable.

ok guys. i am 100% ready to power wash the engine bay and start on sanding the hole thing. everything i want removed is gone and trimmed up. here is how it sits. i can not believe i am doing this. what an awesome project so far and i am having a good time doing it.

also could i get some tips from experience please.

what products should i use to clean the engine bay. it is covered in dirt, grit, and oil. it is pretty bad.

also notice some of the spot welds i drilled out left a little dimple. any recommendations on what product to use to fill the dimples?

i am waiting on new tie rod ends to come in. then i can put the wheels on and push it outside. they should have been here yesterday but maybe there is a delay. i need to check tracking. other then that i am ready for the next step
