Yup. Gonna have to find a new place to sleep. I may just stay out of that hole area this year to avoid the hikes in rates seeing how I lost the best pricing in town.Originally Posted by 06MREvo

fuel tank, rear sub frames, rear, alxes, and sway bar are all back on the car. every nut and bolt was replaced with all new OEM hardware. looks so good.

Hey evodan2004 I have a custom fuel tank(driver's side only) in process that will fit the stock location and the OEM fuel pump housing. As soon as I receive it I can tell you about the weight savings. It is being built by a member of this forum.
I am familiar with them. They sure are sweet but not for me. I need the capacity as I do drive my car when its not broken. E85 is not common around here so it would be annoying to figure out how to keep the car fueled up

I believe it's 6-6.5 gallons which is really not that bad. You'd figure cruising should render about 85-100 miles. You've really hooked me on weight reduction in my new build up, now I need an aluminum driveshaft :-( AWD Motorsports no longer makes them.

get a carbon shaft or go to a local shop and have one made... there is usually a drive shaft shop every 50 miles or so...

see that is what i am saying. no good for me. E85 is 35 miles from me. granted i do have a few drums i fill up to store at home but still there is no going anywhere on 100 miles around here. i plan to build my own tank over the winter. 15/16 gallon and still be lighter then a stock 14 gallon tank.Originally Posted by EVO8_PR

Thats good news you will be making it to the shootout. Coming with out your own car always sucks, I did it two years ago. Only thing good about it, is when I got home, I had tons of motivation to work on the car lol.

Its 100% I will not have the car. But it is looking good I'll still be going which is fine by me.Originally Posted by tsidrift1

I figured i'd share this with you... I was up working on a customers intake mani, when i said **** it and cut off all the mounts to the emissions control bs... There are even a few casting "things" that look like they used to have a purpose but dont anymore that can be cut off. Its still a work in progress and i did it more for the clean look then the weight. i would estimate near 8-12ounces was removed... Not something to tear down your motor for but if you have it off why not

Oh also... Have ya'll ever heard of anything smoothing/polishing the walls of the cam side of the head? I thought it up to help keep oil from clinging inside the head. It may be very ineffective or it might keep more up. Idk but i was opening up the drain ports and it made me wonder so i figured i'd ask for advice
