Evodan2004 has lost his mind part 3. The new changes and goals for 2013.
i got the head off tonight. that will go out next week to be cleaned and checked over. once that comes back i will pull the block out and send that on its way. i am amazed at how clean and nice everything looks inside the engine for what is has been threw.
if you do not know who Frontline Fabrication is then you need to check his company out and like them on FaceBook. he has been making CNC'ed parts for the EVO, DSM, GTR, and some other stuff. here is his evo 7/8 cam sensor housing cap. this thing will add a nice touch to the engine bay. once my head comes back from the machine shop i will get some completed install pics up. but for now take a look. he also makes these for the EVO 9 and the DSM.

as for my cylinder head. the guides were shot so it is having a guide and valve job done to it. also the oil return holes/ports are being opened up some. i should have it back shortly.

Probably just shoot Andrew an email. No FB, wtf?! hahah...
ps, I got my Ti axle nuts already...
as for the ti nuts i am not sure if you saw the thread but i got 1/2 of the order. so i shipped out the 5 sets to the people who paid in full first. the other 1/2 should be here in a week or 2. then i will ship out the rest of the sets and get to install my own set. i wanted to hoard the 5 sets i got because they looked so nice hahah.
today i got a lot of the parts i need for this rebuild/freshen up project. i am waiting on one more box to arrive with some more goodies. here is some stuff.
updates.
nothing crazy. the head should have been done by now but the shop called me and said a bunch of valves were bent. so i ordered all new valves. i honestly am hating my self for wanting to redo this engine. IMO it was a total waste of time and money. but i did not know its condition so i guess this is how we learn. anyways the head should be done this week.
the block is taken apart. here are the pistons. these have 10/12K miles on them

the bearings in the engine looked nearly new as well. this thing had many years left on it. again live and learn. i am dropping the block off to be semi filled, honed, cleaned and then ill be putting new higher CR pistons in it. reusing the rods and crank as long as they check out to be ok. then i can re assemble everything.
anyways while i was up late last night it hit me. i do not have ABS and my axles have ABS rings on them. so i went into the garage at 230am to remove them. i did the fronts early this morning and i did the rears a few hours ago. total weight savings was .65LBS. not much but its rotational and every bit counts. come on you guys should know me by now. here is a pic of them removed.

also i ordered something last week that should be here this week. its long, light weight, and hopefully bad ***. ill get pics up once it arrives.
