This is one of those things that’s easier in the 8/9 than the x. I still find myself parking crooked in my x even though I’ve been daly driving it for some time now.

Damn I didn't even notice. Looked light just light hitting the wheel and reflecting.

Who did it? Or did you buy the wheels used like that?

nope, main ECU. I actually purchased it more for the wiring plugs than the ECU.

I do have an extra ACD/AYC unit as well though...

This is pure comedy at this point...

I took the car out of the garage today and idled it for 25 mins. Longest I've had it run since I got it off the back of the transport truck. It started burning oil out the exhaust. I was literally about to light the sob on fire but decided to throw one of the outdoor chairs across the backyard instead.

So then I pulled the #3 plug and saw:

I also checked the piston top and it was dry. Yassss.

So.. I am guessing the turbo finally crapped the bed. So for now, as I wait for a new core to come I will sit back and admire how clean I got this royal pain in my ****...

The car is really clean.

I thought you hade the turbo replaced? Or did they only do the turbine housing?

Just the turbine housing as the original bolts came loose and housing cracked trying to extract one. I was thinking of replacing/upgrading the turbo while the car was down but ultimately chose not to as I was sick of spending money on the thing...

Hindsight is... a sob

That's usually how that works. Looks like you have a garage now at least. So you can probably change the turbo your self. They're not to bad on the X, especially since its not a stock turbo with all 3 mounts still holding it to the engine lol

Okay, decision time.

Apparently you cannot purchase just a CHRA from Precision (grrrr) so I am looking at buying a supercore.

So, upgrade to a 5558 gen 2 supercore (Currently have gen 1 5858) for $1595 and reuse the stainless steel turbine housing I literally just bought...

or.. go to a 5862 Gen 2 and get the whole turbo with stainless housing for $1995.

I haven't seen anything really about the 5862 Gen 2 so.. not sure if it's way laggier than my current 5858 or just slightly with way more power potential...

The 62mm turbine is laggy and not responsive. I've seen in person gen2 6062 vband results that spool slower than a gen2 6266 vband. My vote definitely goes to the gen2 5558.

Yea, that is what I was leaning to. I just needed a sanity check. Thanks!

Plus, I might just be able to take off the old CHRA/Compressor housing and slide the new one in while keeping the turbine housing on. Like anything simple like that will go as planned on this thing though.

I've mostly written off the idea of have a "plan" when it comes to getting work done on highly modified vehicles lol.

The other reason not to do the 5862 would be your fuel system likely wouldn't even be able to max it out.
