Awesome car Tim !! I always enjoyed watching the trc evo , that thing is so insanely fast!! I remember seeing the trc evo beat the boost it forward twin turbo Lamborghini huracan. Good luck with the car!!
Thanks Guys!
Its a neat car and I'm happy to get some seat time with it. I'm keeping the fp red car for now, its nice to row the H pattern at less then warp speed on the local roads. I picked up the car earlier this year but wanted to wait until an event to run/release it.
Tim, IIRC you swapped to Motec right? Have you dont the integrated ACD?
What other features did you get with it?
Thats correct. I left the ACD program alone. Its still on a tuned ACD file from way back on the ACD ecu. I've got a dyno to tune the engine on so thats easy. I don't have enough road to tune the ACD maps without losing my license.
The JRR package has antilag, boost by gear, soft limiters etc. AND being a MoTec it has Fantastic logging . If there is something you can think of John Reed can add it. One of the reasons the ER Evo/Integra is so fast.
Car updates. I've taken the TRC car out about 20 times and its needed nothing but alot of fuel. Most runs at 37-40psi. Made some small tweaks to the Infinity file and plan on putting it on the dyno soon. Its amazing how well it puts the power down in any gear. You can brake boost it in first and it just rips. This car reset the bar for me for performance. It will go a 3.9 60-130mph without drama on a good surface
FP red car is back on the 4.11 trans and the long gearing is nice.
Not car related but a neat project where attention to detail is important.
Building two trucks for my Brother's tree service . Interviewed the top three builders in the country and adjusted wheelbase, body size and loader. My brother had a few trucks built over the years but each one was missing certain details. Built a Glider kit (new truck,no emissions, high HP) Grapple truck for hauling debris . Did 40 hours of research on it and it turned out nice. Couple extra coats of clear on it 2020 Western Star 4900SBG Series 60 500/1650 , Allison 4500, 46 rears with a 4.30 gear. Palfinger M13A 32' Oh, and its got some spice. Makes 38psi of boost.
Long version
Cars are still running well. July 5th 2022 marks a decade of ownership .
This was the first picture of it.
Stock except for coilovers . Needed a new clutch. 70k miles. Spent most of its life in Georgia out of the weather.
It’s incredible how much power these cars can make.
Dynoed it a month later at a whopping 255 to the wheels.
Exhaust ,boost controller and some tuning it was 350whp.
400whp on e85
Changed to an fp red and made 500whp.
Some cowboy runs over 600whp.
Swapped in a built 2.2 and left it around 600whp /500lb ft.
It’s been an extremely fun car! Probably has 30 launches on it and hundreds of pulls. 50 powerslides in Mexico.
It drives almost like a stock evo but has more power everywhere! Looking forward to the next decade .
Well done Tim, it’s such a wicked beast & it still looks like stock.
Tim what’s your take on the FP Red UHF vs the standard Red MHI? I like what you & Sean have achieved with the FP Reds, it’s the reason why I’m very fond of this turbo.
My IX will always remain a stock block & most likely stay on 93 Octane as there isn’t any e85 where I live. It has just over 34000 miles, I think an FP Red would be a great turbo with the usual bolt ons.

Hard to say. No clear data on it. MHI housing is what you want for OEM +.
If you do a red on the stock 9 engine then port the wastegate port so that boost creep isn't an issue on stock cams. 18 psi actuator . 20-23 psi on pump gas and soft timing would be ok however party starts at 25psi and Ethanol on this turbo.
Some videos of the car at the Buschur shootout last year.

Just going to throw this out there, I had a MHI Green on my stock block and it was a blast on pump and E. If you mostly street drive and are serious about not building the bottom end, that would be my personal pick.
I have a MHI Red on my built 9 now and its great as well. No wrong choice, just comes down to what you want.
