This thing just keeps going harder and harder! I might have missed it, but at one point, you mentioned going wide-body, did you scrap that or are you still waiting on the kit?
Few little electrical bits done. I removed the steering lock and key barrel from the car. Now it’s just a simple ignition switch and push button start.
Also did some changes to the battery. Installed a master battery isolater switch & I moved the setup from the boot to my passenger foot well. I changed the battery to a race lithium one, this coupled with the aluminium mounting tray and shortened cable has saved me 13Ib.
So that I wasn’t just removing weight from the back I put the paddle shift air compressor there, which also makes it quieter as it’s in the back now.
Also added the Motec and link comms cables to the bottom carbon dash panel.
Racing as great, finished 2nd outright and beat my pb by 2.7 seconds, the gearbox and diffs really are magic.
The car that beat me by 0.3 of a second was a Ls swapped sequential rx7 with aero on slicks and the car that finished 3rd behind me was a 500bhp holden tarana again with aero and slicks.
Pretty stocked with how the weekend went, ill
upload a video of one of my quick laps. A few pics below also.
So pretty excited, I got accepted to compete in World Time Attack Challenge at Sydney Motorsport Park this September. I’ll be competing in the open class which will be running the Yokohama AO50 as the control tyre.
