I've had a pair of Evo 8 front seats loafing in my shop for a couple of years. So, I decided to find out what exactly needs to be done to swap the driver's seat with the passenger seat. I've found a couple of surprises so far. More information later.

I had a read through. Damn dude that's alot of work lol
Once I had the tools assembled and had finally figured out what I needed to do it took me about 2 hours per seat and I'm a slow worker. The tools I needed but didn't have amounted to the Harbor Freight drill sharpener - $40 and a package of fasteners from Fastenal $3. But now the rest of the story............
Two years ago I saw some worrisome wear on the outside of the driver's seat. My wife who knows fabric looked at it and proclaimed, "Two more years and you will have a hole." My first thought was swapping the driver's and passenger seats. All a search on this forum revelled was more people wanting the same information. One person did write they had done it by drilling out bolts but gave no further information. When I found I couldn't unscrew any fasteners I turned to Ebay for a set of SE seats.
The originals continued to occupy garage space and the fact I couldn't do this job continued to bug me. So, I had to try again. Well, it wasn't that hard. While is was admiring the finished product my wife walked in and said, "Those seats would look good in my car." Here we go again.
BTW, take another look at the write up, I added some pictures.
^ Agreed!! I've never worked with drum brakes before and it was killing me! After I got everything back together I realized my e-brake wasn't tight enough lol
