focus RS is appealing since the evo is dead....but that interior is dinky plus dealers are marking up above MSRP. Not worth it for "overboost"...lol

I had an evo then an st now back to an evo. I really like the interior of the St but it was hard to be happy in it cause at the end of the day if someone asked me what I drove my answer was a focus. Not something I was proud of. I like saying I own an evo. I personally feel that the rs is not as bad *** looking as a evo.

Thats the old days, bunch of English enthusiasts get together and make fords better, all long gone and forgotten, theres no rally or race influence in their cars now, it's all cleaver marketing, color, shapes, sounds, perceptions, the world revolves around the Internet now, not the race track, the reason why this thread is so popular is that we all live in hope that one day there will be a modern replacement to our aging Evo's but it ain't going to happen, different priorities these days in car manufacture, it's all about trending and us old dinosaurs ain't part of that

Of course. Which is all part what I was saying: most cars push from the factory. The RS is no different and I wouldn't expect it to. We'll see how it does, once people can tune it out. Should be interesting.

Well, you can't have it both ways, especially with modern EPA, DOT, etc. There's not much difference between the RS, the Evo X, STi, etc, gimmicks or not (or lack of rally/race influence). You can't have safe, low-polluting race and rally cars that also appeal to enough people to hit sales numbers. So, times change. Either we do too and modify to suit our needs, or we can continue to own and operate our 10yr old+ cars. I'm all for driving old cars LOL.

I think people might also be underestimating the aftermarket that ford has. Its a completely different animal compared to what is out there for imports. Wouldn't surprise me in the least if some guys figured out how to get a ford 9 inch in the rear of these things lol.

Wut.

Ford stayed in WRC rally even after Mitsubishi left. Ford is just as much, if not more, of a "racing" company as Mitsubishi.

You sound like a cranky old man who doesn't know what he's talking about and doesn't want to learn.

If they can live with an effectively locked/no-diff/bevel geared center then party on.

I truly don't understand how someone can say that Ford of all companies has lost its connection to racing compared to Mitsubishi.

say what? They make all kinds of different setups for the 9". I was kind of joking about actually using a 9" but considering people have dropped Cobra 5.4L DOHC engines into previous focus models nothing would surprise me.

But...But Ford only cares about YouTube videos. None of that matters.

All of this "Ford is a racing company" crap doesn't mean anything when the RS becomes a fwd car after a couple minutes on track...

I understand that but there is only one way to get power to the rear unit via the bevel gear in the stock setup. So it's awd with a "locked" center, fine in gravel/slippery conditions, or fwd. Normal street driving would be a tough proposition.
