megan and buschur exhaust fitment??

When I bought my car it came it a megan racing turbo back on it. It fits really good and look amazing. The thing was is I dont really like the sound and also want to change the the bullet muffler for the fact that it sounds alot deeper and also less flashy with more of a stock look. Does anyone know or have any expirence with just the rear sections of both? I would like to change out just mufflers since the rest of the exhaust is working fine and already 3in. A little modification is fine because I have access to welder and all the goodies but I dont wanna buy such a nice piece from buschur and go hack it all up to just to fit. Thanks guys

all buschur catbacks are slip fit on the rear of the cat/test pipe

you can reuse your megan downpipe but you'll need to replace your cat/test pipe for the flange to slip fit that buschur sells to mate up with his exhaust

I run their complete bullet tbe and ported o2 housing...quality/sound/performance are all a++

oh ok so even if I got just the muffler it will not bolt up with it anyway. Even If I get an exhaust clamp to mate it up to the existing piping?

the megan axleback and midpipe have a flange if I'm correct so you'd have to weld a flange onto the buschur axleback (to bolt up to the megan mid pipe) or weld a flange to the buschur midpipe (to bolt up to your existing cat/test pipe)

yea, i had a buschur exhaust on my last car. unless you get the V-band version of this exhaust your wasting your money. i bought the slip fit version and it fell apart on me while driving down the road. i think buschur has some great parts, but their slip-fit exhaust is complete garbage. i had to weld my exhaust together after that night.

and whatever you do, do not get the magnaflow muffler, ITS HUGE! and it probably weighs like 40lbs!

and even if you do weld a flange onto the axle-back of the buschur exhaust, t probably wouldnt fit/reach correctly to your existing exhaust. the buschur exhaust is "unique"

i would say, if you want a better sounding exhaust, go to a shop like "exhaust pros" and get them to put a flowmaster muffler on it. i think we can all agree that flowmasters sound way better than magnaflows

BR's slip fit exhaust is NOT complete garbage. I and many other are running it fine w/ no problems. If the TBE "fell apart on you", maybe you should install the TBE correctly or have someone that know how to install correctly do it for you.

I would not get the magnaflow or flowmasters at all I would just want something like the older style bullet or the new one. No need for a big muffler thats just for stock..lol

it's on exhaust hangers...even if you didn't tighten the clamps enough it couldn't really fall apart

install error?

+1

I've had this exhaust on my car for over a year and a half and I love it.

I've had both Buschur Slipe fit and V-band.

I prefer the slipfit due to the flexibility of the install. (ex. adjustability to angle of the tip, length sticking out etc..) And if you do custom modifications of trying to make things super silent, then its easier to modify with slip fits.

I used to hate slip fits when I had my srt-4 because they leaked. But that was due to the crap U style clamps they came with, but I didnt realize till now. Buschur supplies a positive seal band clamp that does an excellent job clamping and help sealing.

It is the responsibility of the installer to make sure enough tubing is slipped over and the clampes are properlly placed and bolted.

Either you didnt slip in enough tubing or you installed the clamp incorrectly. The clamps are step down type where the slip over section is wider than the slip-in section. Either you mixed that up and put it backwards or you didnt place it on correctly, assuming you did tighten it snug.

And for the record I have another Buschur slip fit magnaflow+HFC Turboback exhaust in my garage waiting for a good day to install.

**Edited the bold word, I ment slip fit is my preferred**

I'd agree with most regarding the Buschur slipfit. I don't see how the system could fall apart if installed correctly on the hangers with the clamps properly installed.

Bringing back the dead, but I have a Buschur Race catback for sale. Has flange welded on so you can use it with any tp or cat!
