Just took a big LOSS today.

I decided to swap out the injectors to the 440's I had. Im taking my times doing it right. Install is done, only thing left to do is clip in the last injector harness and two more from the manifold. I push down and it doesnt catch. Im trying for about 10 minutes to get it to catch I pull it out to see if the rubber gasket is stopping it. No?

I try some more. Nothing. Im thinking WTF? I back off and I look at the injector and the ******* clip catcher on the injector is broken! I bought these injectors off of an active member here about a year and a half ago for this and he just convieniently happened to forget this detail.

So I'm pissed that I just wasted 2 hours for nothing! Decide to put the stock ones back in since the clip wont hold AT ALL, as Im taking them out one of the seat gaskets falls somewhere and is M.I.A. I searched for it for about 30 minutes and no luck. So Im stuck without a car for tonight at best. Hopefully Im overlooking it and ill try to find it tonight and tomorrow morning. At worse Im going to take off the damn manifold to help find it tomorrow. Which is a severe PITA.

My thing is Im highly disappointed in the member who sold me these injectors. I call myself trying to help him by buying his so he can get his motor together and I get burned. Now Im sitting here with a set of injectors that are junk because I highly doubt someone will sell me one.

I was thinking about putting some silicone or something around the clip BUT I shouldnt have to do that. I paid for 4 injectors that are plug and go not three that are and a fourth that I have to jerry rig.

So hats off to you dude, thanks for ripping me when I was trying to help you out. Big *** waste of time!...

Personally I'd just have rigged the 4th injector with a small zip tie.

I ran a broken clip on my evo for 2 years without it even getting loose.

how do we do that RS?

Green bandit sorry to hear that bro. Imma have to check my injectors and make sure that the clips are good on mine. I bought off of NASIOC though.

I had a similar situation getting all those orings installed. One of mine fell and landed on the little perch where tires/brakes/etc all mount to the chassis. If literally fell in that little U shaped divot where the steering stuff runs, took me like 30 minutes to find it.

Best advice I can say, is to just use a flash light, look everywhere, and then feel around all under that steering thing, to see if yours fell in the same spot.

Injector latency base is under global fuel in my rom.

Stock lancer value is 0xF while the evo is 0x18 as you can see 150% difference in value. I am slightly curious if it will effect total injector open time

Thanks for the suggestion man. Good looking out.

I meant to give you guys an update last night but got caught up with caking soo...yeah. Here it is.

I searched high and low for that o-ring like 3 hours all around the bay even in the places Hornstar suggested. No luck so I hit mitsubishiparts.net thought I found the right piece and had it over nighted no luck. So I fell back to Advance and to my surprise they had it, it just had to be ordered. So I had that overnighted and it fits perfectly. Guys, I know its been said a million times before but dont loose track of that ring. Major PITA. Im still disappointed in myself since Im usually good at keeping an eye out for the major things.

So long story short, it came in, fit perfect and I was going to put the stockers back in and say F it but figured I didnt come all this way for nothing. So I noticed the injector with the clip missing fit a little snugger with the clip on cylinder one so I put it there and took Roadspikes advice and zip tied it. So theyre in!

Got them scaled at 361 and latencies are

4.69v---3.144
7.03v---2.112
9.38v---1.200
11.72v---0.744
14.06v---0.600
16.41v---0.480
18.68v---0.360

And now Im throwing bank 1 too lean witch is what I was throwing before when that stuff was off so I have to play with the scalings and stuff more. But just from some initial throttles the thing is still going in the 14's around 5 or 6 pounds. Im hoping thats just because of the latencies now.

So I dont know. Not much to do know except keep pushing and hope these latencies will fix that. Just wish Mitsukid would chime in with his experience.

Identical to what I am running for latencies except the 11 and 14volts so probably shouldnt be too far off, and same scaling as me

I won't be much help and won't be able to post a log until I get the cable I ordered from the same site I posted up top. I made a cable and wasn't able to get the AEM to log but I think it was because of the cable so as soon as that cable comes in I'll figure out how to get the aem to log. I'll be more help then so we can figure this crap out.

I go all the way to 16 AFR though bro.

I'm using 418 scaling, and
4.69 - 3.504
7.03 - 2784
9.38 - 1.464
11.72 - 0.984
14.06 - 0.672
16.41 - 0.360
18.68 - 0.144

When the scaling is higher, the injector is assumed to be larger, so less fuel is "squirted"...which means changing to what I have would lean you out I think. It works butter for me, but I guess to each his own (also speed density really makes mine able to be set as whatever, wherever, whenever).

Something is up with a limit somewhere, lets holla at RoadSpike, might even post in his thread on this, as that's where it really needs to be addressed, aye?

When you log, what does your load go up to? Even if you don't have good AFR logs, tell us this.

Max IDC % you see
Max Load you see

So i decided to read up on some of my older posts.

When link my tester at the time tried the load and fuel cap removal he dipped into the 14's for the first time and IDC shot up beyond 60% from what i can recall. He mentioned he needed to adjust the maf scaling to get the car to dip into the 12 and 13's.

Perhaps thats the same situation that green is facing if his maf scaling is stock it may simply be programmed to end up in the 14's no matter what scalings he tries.

^ and that's the same issue mitsukid had so he had to adjust his MAF scaling.

we have to do the same thing he did in his "Issues with fuel"" thread.
