as I said before in one of cityknight's threads (I think I spelled his user name correctly)

There is a proper way of saying you don't like something. you dont' have to flame, make fun of, or whatever. If you have to post, just say you don't like it. Maybe even comment on what you don't like about it.

I'm siding with the mods on this one.

I see no problem with what the mods have done. They are trying to keep the forums clean and free from the arguements and unneeded comments that should be kept to ones self. I, for one, think they are doing an excellent job.

IF you think I'm on a powertirp, you are out of your mind

Much less, you obviously don't know me.

Quite simply... I will not tolerate openly bashing the staff, even in OT. Its a big peeve of mine. Thats why the thread was closed.

Hi and thank you for your comments. And if we ban you for daring to question the moderation of this site, it will only be for a week or two. j/k.

I believe your post was in response to the banning of a member and I will address that concern. Please keep in mind three points. Evom is a private meeting place for open discussion. 'Open' does not connote disrespectful comments about persons nor the license to say what one pleases. The members are subject to the rules they agreed to when they signed up. Ninety percent of the moderator's actions are the direct result of a reported post by another member. And we work very hard to keep the site work and family friendly with OT getting the widest latitude.

Generally timeout is issued after repeated PM's by the mods to a member asking they knock off flaming or personal attacks and sometimes just plain mean posts. Bannings are a last resort after chronic violations of the site rules. Certain members come to the attention of the mods through reported posts and direct postings on a continuing basis. Eventually we give up and issue a short term ban hoping it will get his/her attention.

The thread you referred too was closed because it would end up being a flame-fest. As they get filled quickly with insightful comments such as "agreed" and which add nothing to the discussion. And this is the correct forum for such a discussion. Do we make mistakes? Of course and we are more than willing to fix them, but we will not tolerate the "in your face" abusive language and argumentative members who dominate many other sites. I hope this helps. Thanks.

no...its beacuse they have evos...and we only have lancers. but anyways...

the whole thing in nonsense. if i make a post asking it people like what i have done to my car, i am prepared to take the good and the bad. other people get all upset and react when someone says something negative, even when its FULLY justified(i.e. rediculous "designer" fabric on the interior of a lancer es). i know that the people who react to the negative comments only fuel the fire more, and regardless of what they say(cityknight) they don't get banned, but others do. seems like recently the noobs are being "protected" while those of us who have been around for a while (and have never been a problem) are being banned. doesn't make sense..............

i'm only hanging out in off topic from now on............

I agree that the moderators are doing a good job. If you don't have anything informatiive to see, don't reply. If anything, I wish they were even more strict with the exception of OT as it would keep the posts to information that has useful content. Instead of telling new users to search, give them a link that shows how to search or help them by posting links to other posts that answer their questions.

OR....don't let noobs start new threads. thats where the problem comes from. since you have an evo, i dont know if you ever go in the regular lancer section, but there's ALWAYS someone starting a stupid thread that's been discussed a million times. if the mods would get rid of those threads when they start, then we wouldn't flame the morons who didn't search.
