Noobs and the quest for 50 posts
So this is why I can't post in the FS forum? Because I use the search function instead of asking stupid questions that have already been answered? That's a shame. I had no idea. Let the stupid posts from brtecson begin...
I forgot about that... I have definitely read almost all of the stickies in the forums thoroughly, saving me tons of posts/flamers and forum-goers time. this site logs logs people somehow... maybe there should be a minimum log-in time/link clickage or something
+1
I know there has probably been other avenues looked in to to facilate the use of the FS section... personally I have nothing to sell on there but it would be nice to add a comment to some of the threads on Feeler posts and such. Like I said, I would rather not make comments or threads that really don't amount to anything so Low post count until I get my EVO... and it took me 3.5 years to get 11 posts so, lol.
agree
Im still a Noob and I completly agree with that. 100 posts isnt hard over time, and adding the recommendation from one already established would just help more with the security. awesome idea
My arguement:
I've been on this forum since November 2006. I bought my IX back in March of this year. I've already contributed to the online community a fair amount, and I plan on doing a write-up when I do my engine swap. On top of that, I'm almost finished completing my interior LED retrofit and will be posting that up as well. I have other simultaneous projects going on, all of which I plan on sharing with the community.
My point you may ask? I'M NOT A FREAKIN SCAMMER!
Under the same screen name, I've been on my350z.com for over 7 years and produced thread after thread of electrical projects for that community with over 30 iTrader feedback, all positive. I am also a verified paypal member.
My entire point is to illustrate the fact that I am, just as other new members, willing and able to contribute to the Evo community here on EvoM. Why am I on EvoM? Because it simply the biggest and the best. I find the 50 post requirement incredibly annoying. I don't understand why I'm not allowed to post in the marketplace even though I've been a member for over 3 years.
Bottom line: I strongly encourage the Forum Moderators and Administrators to weed out scammers with time, posting requirements. It just makes more sense.

I don't understand it either. I've been a member here for a long time and I just now have 50 posts. You learn alot by reading and not putting in pointless answers just to get more posts. If you don't know the answer to a question then let someone who does post instead of cluttering up the pages with nonsense. Just my .02 cents
we should be able to have post count go up in the regional forms. That's where i post most of the time anyways.
here is my 2nd .02cents
i dont think 50, 100, or a 1000 posts will prevent someone from scamming another, but what makes the 50 posts interesting or atleast for myself, when i see a user selling a part and has less than 100 posts in his history, i usualy check out his posts, see the vailidity of them and from there on gauge the seller, whether he shoudl be given the chance to be trusted or not.
here is an example:
good seller: has 50 posts, and most of his posts, are asking legit questions, answering and getting involed in seriouse discussions in a proffesional manner.
Bad seller: has 50 posts, but 90% of his posts are "free bump, nice ride, looking good, wow so cheap....etc"
the above posts right away raise a flag for me.

Or what you could do is have a rating system for when some one asks a question they loose a point or post, and when someone answers the question they get like + 2 post kinda like yahoo answers but only just for the questions part or select a button that says you want to ask a question? Then let the community vote in it.
Hi everyone, and thank you for your comments. Your written contribution to this community is a fair trade for access to the Market Place. We have no intent of lowering the requirements for using the marketplace. Thanks.
