I have been thinking this for about 2 or 3 weeks now, and frankly, I was afraid to say anything because there are so many moderators around here and a few of them seem to cop an attitude and love to either lock threads or close them whatever, but it's annoying. I know that it is necessary and it's nice that people are willing to spend the time involved in checking through all these threads to make sure that the content is reasonable, but I think it has gone a little overboard myself.

Ah, I didn't prepare with examples. I didn't know it would turn into this, to be honest.
Would you go to court with no evidence to support your opinion also? These has to be some specific instances that caused you to write this thread.

If you can't think of any right now, please feel free to PM me (or any Moderator you know) if you see any specific examples of what you are talking about....or if you see anything -funny- going on. We are dead serious about keeping this place a valuable resource for everyone.

Bingo

Theres a good number of people in this thread that I've known for a while. Like I've said in the past, if you want to discuss anything , feel free to IM or PM me. As most know, I'm willing to work something out if you think you were "wronged" in some manner.

Of course. If any members think we "screwed them," feel free to contact us. And we'll work out a resolution. I'm getting the feeling some are afraid to approach us.

Pimp, you summed it up pretty much.

So you guys are saying that if a thread gets locked, lights out, or whatever, we can pm you if we think it is unnecessary??

Thats what the three Moderators have been saying.

Of course, you'd have to give us a good reason to reconsider (as if it wasn't obvious enough).

Sounds like that's what they're getting at.

What about that last good point I raised?

I understand deletion being a necessary evil for all members, but is it possible to close/lock the thread, then sticky it, and give an explanation then after say, 2 days, delete it? That way anyone who posted in the thread will know what happend to it, including the originator.

So, I can't just PM Jeremy and say that Peejay is being a *****?
(just trying to add humor)

This is like kicking a dead horse, what a waste of time. They're the mods, we're not, what they say goes. Sometimes the way they moderate sucks, other times, it's very smart in the things they do. As long as they put a little thought into their decisions before jumpin all over the delete button, it's cool with me.

Somehow, I don't think that would be sufficent reason.

But sometimes they (seem like they) don't know how the members react. We're merely trying to keep ourselves (and many others) from becoming unhappy. That's why I posted my resolution to it.

Pointless. So what if there was at least 5 threads that were troublesome that needed to be modified? Based on your post, we'd have to sticky all 5 for at least 2 days for the author and the others involved in order for them to see what happend to it?

Why not make it simple for us and just post up a thread concerning the whereabouts of the thread(s) (kinda like what the members usually do when they want answers). Then we come in and answer it, and done, just like that.
