Exactly, exactly, exactly. I mean, why does everyone insist on making such a big deal out of these numbers? I mean sure, dyno's are a great tool for tuning. But the fact is that all they do is give you a theoretical idea of how fast your car is going to be. Why the hell does everyone argue about this so much? You wanna settle it than just put both cars at the tree and wait for green (or make a few laps around the track if thats your thing).

Anyways, nice numbers, now lets see some timeslips!

We know this much: 330whp on Shiv's dyno on a stock turbo = 11.9 at 115 mph if a good run is managed. When Tomig, IE, and I were all making around 310 to 315whp we were all around 12.2 at 113 mph. IE's trap speed went from 112mph with a 310whp dyno to a 120 trap speed with a 390whp dyno with his Stage 3. Funny how the math bears itself out... 10hp seems to equal about a mph...

So, there are lots of timeslips to back up what cars do with what whp on Shiv's dyno, putting the real world into Shiv's dyno results.

Hope that helps....

Big time tuners Shiv, Dave, Mark and yes Al

You guys kill me. I wish that I knew about 1/10 what you guys know about cars. I barely know the diff. between AFR and EGT . Thats why I try and read just about anything any of you guys writes here on these boards. I would have any of you guys tune my Evo cus you guys are passionate about what you do and got skills. I thought Dave's fight comment was more of a joke but I ain't my forum. I did notice the good old boy comment about Dave, again it ain't my forum. I come here for the knowledge but everyone seem soooooooooo seeeeeeensitive (i had one hand on my hip when i typed that) and takes stuff personal. Again tuning ain't my livelihood just a hobby that I don't really have enough money for after the kids and house and ex-wife. **** I'm lucky to have a car let alone an Evo. Anyway I don't know any of your guys personally but I respect all the stuff that you guys do for my car hobby that I may never be able to afford. Thats my cent and a half and yes I know its still off topic , but then again what was the topic anyway.

Shiv, I'm brown bagging it (peanut butter and jelly) for all of Feb. and March to be able to get your custom tune at TT on March 5th. Can't wait to meet you there.

Dave, if i was smart I would have gotten your tbe instead of the Greddy Ti, then I wouldn't be so sick of wonder bread and PB&J. Next I'll be savin up for the alky kit. I may never be able to eart a real lunch again. Live and learn

best wishes to all the tuners that make my car go faster.

When a class is opened up for "cars strapped to dynos and racing for the highest peak HP number"? 350 hp to the wheels with the stock EVO turbo is more realistic.
I have been to both Shiv's shop, and Dave Buschur's shop. No comparison. Lets see, Shiv had a dyno, a drum of fuel, computer.....another unit with a lift and about fifteen ricer punk kids standing around. Never saw any parts in inventory. A display case with a couple of struts and a single turbo. Pretty high tech arrangement, oh and the one lap car in the back lot and a few WRX's. Buschur's shop. Mulitple bays, lifts. Aisles of inventory. Wall after wall of framed magazine articles spanning over ten years. A real office with many phones, computers, fax, etc. A dyno room, engine room, core and used parts storage room. A fab room with multiple welding machines, stock of materials. Its goes on and on.
Never in twelve years have I seen Dave Buschur make racist or threatening remarks to anyone in the car arena. He bends over backwards to help even those who didn't
buy all of their parts from his company. Honesty is integral for BR. They would rather not make a sale then to force a product on a customer whom doesn't need it.
This is no jab at Shiv. He has a customer base and a following, obviously gets results. Maybe a common ground of respect is all that is needed. Doesn't look like it will happen.
But for him to continually make remarks of where a person hails from or resides. Just remember the next time you point your all mighty finger, how many in your hand are pointing right back at yourself?

Gimme a break. I like DB, but all Shiv said was "Good ole boy" or something similar. Jeesh.

I do road racing and drag, but drag makes it alot easier to compare cars/setups...as the driver has less of a role in how fast the car is.
What theory? My point is a simple fact. Marc, that was my point. Tom, IE, and I use the dyno for tuning and then go and see if new mods helped. For some people who do not know how to drag race or do not want to abuse their cars, we serve as real-world indicators of how the dyno translates into action... BTW, what do you think of that Kingpin dyno chart?

Wow, these threads always get out of hand.

Slowboy, the main point was -- as you came on and posted and David and Shiv questioned -- is how do you gain 127 WHP with minor bolt-on modifications? If the car dynoed 253 WHP stock you gained roughly 50% in WHP, doesn't that seem a bit odd?

What country do you live in? Do you know what "Good old boy" means? There is a significant difference between derogatory and racist. If anyone is reading racism into Shiv's statement it is because they want to start a fight like e-Joe Pescis. If the "Dukes of Hazzard" was the "Barons of Harlem" how do you think the theme song would have started out???

We both know that there are many cases where dyno #'s don't = track results...and this seems to be more the case as the cars start pushin greater HP levels.

As far as kingpin..., good stuff.
A bit laggy, but strong on the topend.

Why? Tom ran in the 11s at 330? You ran in the 11's at 340. Actually Tom G consistantly made 220's not the few pulls he made 340. But if your paper racing it did throw down 340s a for a few pulls- that is till shiv saw he had a FMIC that wasnt ours and quickly detunned him. Wait that doesnt make a lot of sense I thought we didnt make a FMIC?

So Marc since we parted ways any reason your here but to invoke and provoke? I thought we wished each other luck in future endeavours, but reminicent of the reason we are here, there seems to be other reasons.
